Thankful and Grateful

First off, I want to take a few moments to say thanks to each and every one of you who have been praying on my behalf. There is so much power in our unified prayer. “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20) I can truly say that I am doing so much better and feeling very thankful and blessed right about now. When we celebrate Thanksgiving in a few weeks, I will have even more to be grateful and thankful for. Going through a health set back really can change ones perspective of things.

I want to take this time out to encourage each of you to listen to your bodies and get your annual medical check-ups. I can be transparent and say that because of my strong reliance on God and natural medicine, I have had a tendency to neglect going to the doctor as regularly as I should. I was under the thought process that if I simply took good care of my body, prayed for my healing when sick and sought out natural cures, that all would be well. However, medical professionals and the equipment that they utilize are here for a reason. If I had not listened to my husband and mother and gone to the doctor when things seemed out of whack, my outcome could have been very different.

I will definitely continue to rely on God and natural medicine, but I will also use the other medical resources that God has blessed us with. If it had not been for a much needed ultrasound, my condition would have gone undiagnosed causing long-term negative health repercussions for me. As mothers we must do our part to ensure that we remain as healthy and strong as we possibly can. We must do so not only for ourselves, but for the benefit of our families and the Kingdom as well.

I am back in the swing of things with a new outlook on life. I want to be the very best me that I can be and positively touch as many lives as God will allow. I wouldn’t trade my trials and tribulations for anything because they shape and form the woman that God designed me to be!

Until our next appointed meeting time. Stay tuned for more words of encouragement and inspiration for M.O.M.’s near and far!
