Today is officially “Word Wednesday” otherwise known as “Hump Day.” We’ve made it half way through yet another week on the wonderful, exciting and bumpy road of motherhood. Therefore, some of us are looking for some encouraging words to make it through the rest of the week with Joy and Peace. At night before my son goes to bed, in addition to reading bible stories, I read him a passage out of “Prayers That Avail Much, First Blessings for Your Child” by Germaine Copeland. Mommies we have to keep our children prayed up and constantly put Gods word in their hearts.
Yesterday’s passage read, “I ask the Lord to give me the wisdom to teach you, __________ (your child’s name), to wait upon Him. When you wait upon the Lord, He shall renew your strength. You shall mount up with wings like eagles; you shall run and not be weary; you shall walk and not faint.” A portion of this passage comes from my favorite scripture, Isaiah 40:31. I find so much comfort in knowing that no matter how tired, weak or frustrated I feel I can always be renewed by the Lord.
We all have those moments when we just want to scream or crawl under the sheets and shut everything out, especially as parents! I have found that in those moments if I just seek His face all will turn out just fine. We should teach our children to do the same. It’s hard enough for them growing up in the world today. This is why our children need to know what to do when they have their moments of frustration and weakness. We are not exempt from having these feelings; therefore, we all need to be uplifted and encouraged sometimes.
I also want you to know that you are not in this alone. Not only do we have the Lord to lean on, but we have each other as well. It is so important that we are connected to others that are living submitted lives and can help us when we need it. Saved M.O.M. is here for you so feel free to submit your prayer requests or contact me at info@savedmom.com.

Two or More
What a beautiful day and awesome start to a lovely week to come. I thank God that we all made it through another wonderful weekend! I didn’t get a chance to blog about last Thursdays prayer meeting due to the Feature Friday post. Although, I can’t let another post go by without talking about the mighty move of God that took place!
Our prayer meeting started just like they always do, but the Holy Spirit showed up like never before. I thank God for what he is doing with this ministry and for the mothers that are being blessed by it. When we gathered together on last Thursday the Holy Spirit fell in this place and stayed for a while. I truly believe yokes were broken and burdens were removed.
If you are in the Atlanta area I would love for you to come out and pray with us. The times and dates are located at the bottom of the page (if you are reading from your inbox go to www.savedmom.com). I also want to open prayer up to those that are not able to make it or that may live outside of the Atlanta area. Please feel free to stand with us in prayer at the times listed on the page. If you have any questions or would like to submit prayer requests you can email info@savedmom.com. I will start including a brief prayer outline in the Thursday blog entries so that you can stand with us in what we are praying for on that day.
Prayer is vitally important to our walk with our heavenly Father. However, that prayer is even more powerful when we stand in prayer together. The word tells us, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20). We should pray with one another and with our children also. They need us to show them how to properly pray and to teach them to make prayer a daily part of their lives. Let’s stand together and call in the sprit of the Lord through the power of prayer.

Feature Friday
Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Jewel Denise Williams. She currently resides in Chicago, IL. She is a beautiful and faith filled woman of God. She is a wife and the mother of three vibrant young ladies. Her ministry is her family and reaching and teaching others for their purpose. Jewell is a minister and an author. She has a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries and she is currently enrolled at Liberty University working on her Masters in Religious Education. She has a website, several blogs, and recently published her first book, Fearfully and Wonderfully Made. She is preparing to go to print on her second book, Broken China Makes a Beautiful Mosaic in about a month. As you can see Jewell is quite a busy woman!
Jewell came to know the Lord during her teen years. She explained, “My earliest memory is remembering a tract I found on the ground. It was about a homeless child that no one wanted. That child died and Christ took him home to be with Him. I do not remember the words, but the picture (which I can still see in my eyes these 20 plus years) spoke to my condition. I was on my own at a very early age, about 14. So I came to the Lord because of His offer of a place to belong and His offer of freedom from my sins and the sins that were done against me. I could not believe that God would love me so, when I felt no one wanted me.”
When I asked Jewell what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she said, “I take being a mother as a very important role in life. I could have sought a career or something else, but I was not willing to let someone else give my children their values. This is not a knock against women that work but for me, I decided to come home and raise my children.” She went on to say, “It was not easy at first, I was use to working. It called for me to make a lot of sacrifices (financially, career wise, etc.) but one thing that I love about God is, when you make a sacrifice for the right reasons he still has a way of rewarding you with what you want.” Now that her children are older Jewell is fulfilling her dreams and desires. She is very happy with the choices that she has made. She explained, “I look at my oldest daughter and I am thankful for the sacrifice I made. I see her blooming and I think to myself, I helped this precious flower to bloom because of the tools that God gave to me. What a joy to know that if we do for our families the way God instructs us, we have the possibility of seeing our children raised healthy (both mentally, emotionally and spiritually). That’s the greatest thing about being a Saved M.O.M., to help my children have a balanced life that they would not have gotten had I not been balanced first.”
Jewell doesn’t have a favorite scripture, but her favorite book is the book of Jeremiah. She explained, “This book is important to me because this is where the Lord led me when he wanted to show me what he was requiring of me in ministry. If I had to pick a verse from this book it would be Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” It reminds me that no matter what challenges I face in life, my God is able to do more than I could even ask or think.”
When asked her to share some inspirational words with our readers Jewell said, “I would want to tell all mothers (all women really), let’s continue to encourage each other. I see the battles between moms that stay home and moms that work, etc. Instead let us support each other’s choices. My choice for my family was what I had to do, but that does not mean it works for you. Instead let us celebrate each other and support our efforts and our dreams. I think that is why I really like savedmom.com, that is what it is aimed at doing, God continue to bless this ministry in those efforts.” You can learn more about Jewell, her ministries and books at the following sites…http://www.tri-productions.blogspot.com/, http://home.comcast.net/~inhisword/site/, http://www.gemsofjewel.blogspot.com/,

Freelance Time
Good day to all! Boy am I in a great mood today! I can’t say that there is any particular reason, but I am just feeling really good about life right now. I thank God for His grace and mercy and for bringing me from such a mighty long way! Sometimes we can get so caught up in what we don’t have instead of praising God for what we do have. I am so happy to be exactly where I am in my life. Of course things can always be better, but they can always be worst too.
There are so many things for us all to be thankful and grateful for. I really want to take this time to thank my loved ones for always being so supportive of me and having my back. I appreciate you all for always putting things into perspective and knocking me down off of my soap box when necessary. A special thanks to my hubby and mommie for accepting me as I am and loving me unconditionally. I also want to thank my faithful readers and subscribers. You all help to make it all worth while. Your feedback and comments on Blogger and Facebook are so uplifting at times.
I am so blessed to have a platform to do God’s work and to be a vessel for Him to use me in the way that He wants. I definitely have days when I get tired, but I always stand on one of my favorite scriptures, “Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:30-31).

Let’s all make today a great day and work at making each day better than the day before. Smile like your life depends on it, laugh like no one is watching, and praise like David did!

Word Wednesday
Today is officially “Word Wednesday” otherwise known as “Hump Day.” We’ve made it half way through yet another week on the wonderful, exciting and bumpy road of motherhood. Therefore, some of us are looking for some encouraging words to make it through the rest of the week with Joy and Peace. At night before my son goes to bed, in addition to reading bible stories, I read him a passage out of “Prayers That Avail Much, First Blessings for Your Child” by Germaine Copeland. Mommies we have to keep our children prayed up and constantly put Gods word in their hearts.
Yesterday’s passage read, “I ask our heavenly Father to give me wisdom to monitor what you hear and see. I believe that you will grow up to be a godly man (or woman), and out of the good treasure of your heart you will bring forth good. Out of the abundance of the heart your mouth will speak.” As soon as I read this passage I sat back and reflected on the part that stated, “monitor what you hear and see.” I have come to realize that so many parents are not aware of the “mess” that their children hear and see on a day to day basis. Whether it’s on the television, radio, or computer, our children have access way too much. We can’t monitor everything that they hear and see, but we can definitely limit their access.
I can remember watching and listening to things that I shouldn’t have when I was a teenager. We don’t realize how much of an affect these things have on us mentally and spiritually. Thoughts and ideas are planted and manifested based on what we open our selves up to. Even as parents we have to be careful and conscious of what we see and hear on a daily basis. Our bodies are our temples and we should guard our temples against things that could corrupt our thoughts. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.” (1 Corinthians 6:19).
We must also consider what we say and do in front of our children. They look to us as their guidance, so we must be sure to model good behavior in front of them. Just think about how many bad habits you may have picked up from your parents. This is one of the many reasons that we should live right at all times and not just put on a good face in front of certain people. We are here to please God, not man.

Severe Weather
Good Day to all! It’s good to be back to the wonderful world of blogging! Breaks are great, but I missed writing and sharing with you all last week. As some of you know, I am in the metro Atlanta area of Georgia. It has been raining very heavily for the last few days now. There have been severe thunderstorms and flooding all over our area.
My mother-in-law called this morning to let my husband know that a lot of the roads were flooding and she wanted to tell him to be safe on his drive into work. We immediately turned on the news to check on the roadways and to get an update on the weather for the remainder of the day. There were other moments over the weekend in which we turned on the news to get updates regarding the severe weather.
This series of events led me to a thought… I sat back and said to myself, “What if when we experienced major problems and issues during life we went to our bibles just as quickly as we turn on the news when there is bad weather?” Now there’s an idea. So many of us get caught up in our mini crisis moments and seek help or comfort in everything except for the Word. Some people choose to talk to others about their problems, some people find solace in vices (i.e. food, drugs, alcohol) and some people just hold it all in until it manifests into depression or sickness.
God provided us with the ultimate instruction manual for life, but how often do we use it to deal with the problems that we face day to day? His Word was given so that we are equipped to face any situation that may come our way. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is vitally important for so many reasons that we constantly keep Gods Word in our eyes, ears and hearts. We must also be sure to get the Word into our children as well. So remember, the next time that you are having a mini or mega crisis, you know exactly where to turn.

Staycation
Good day to all! Well, Saved M.O.M. is on a much needed staycation this week. That means that I am on vacation at home and enjoying every minute. Therefore, I probably won’t get many blog entries in this week. I would love for you to take this time to look back at some of my previous posts. I can’t believe there are almost 100 entries already! If you are reading this from your inbox please go to www.savedmom.com and scroll down on the right side of the screen to view past postings.
The verse of the day on biblegateway.com is… “[Imitating Christ's Humility] If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.”- Philippians 2:1-2

Life Insurance
A few minutes before I began writing this post I sealed an envelope to send off to the insurance company. My husband and I recently decided to obtain additional life insurance for ourselves. Considering that life insurance rates are at an all time low, it just makes sense to get more. It’s so important to make provision for your family in every way possible.
I often write about the things that you should do to cover your family spiritually, but it is our duty to cover them emotionally, financially and physically as well. Sometimes as Christians we get caught up in making everything super spiritual and forget that we have to use the wisdom that God has given us to do the practical things too. There are so many people that die without leaving any type of financial provision for their families. I am sure that some of you have been in situations where a family member has died and no one can really grieve at first because they are so concerned with tending to financial matters.
Death is one of those things that a lot of people don’t like to talk about (especially my husband), but it is inevitable. When it is time for me to leave this earth and meet my maker, I want my family to have the financial, spiritual, emotional and physical provision that they will need. We can’t take away the sadness and pain that our family will experience when we die, but we can certainly make the grieving process less difficult. Just as Jesus had to leave this world and go to the Father, we too will one day have to do the same. “It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.” (John 13:1).
The words written in this post are not meant to bring up feelings of sadness or fear. I just want to emphasis the importance of having financial provision for your family in the event of your absence. It’s advised that you have 8-10 times your annual income in life insurance. Term policies are usually the best way to go for about 15-20 year terms. Do not take my word for it though, make sure you do your own research and figure out what is best for you and your family. A helpful site to get you started is www.zanderins.com.

Please share this blog with as many people as you know (www.savedmom.com), we have so many lives to touch.

Every night before my son goes to bed, in addition to reading bible stories, I read him a passage out of “Prayers That Avail Much, First Blessings for Your Child” by Germaine Copeland. Mommies we have to keep our children prayed up and constantly put Gods word in their hearts.
Yesterday’s passage read, “Little one, I bless you and pray that you will keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race you’re in. I pray for our heavenly Father to give you the desire to study how Jesus did it and to give you the courage to fulfill your destiny.” You know the part of this passage that really jumped out at me was, “Jesus, who both began and finished this race you’re in.” It’s unfathomable to me that a man could walk this earth and NEVER sin. That’s completely amazing!
Isn’t it strange that no matter how hard we try, we all fall short and sin at times? It doesn’t matter if it’s just a little white lie or not, sin is sin. Just think about it for a moment, how difficult would it be to get through a whole week and not commit one sinful act (this includes thoughts as well)! Well, I can answer that question for you, for most of us it would be impossible. Although, I thank God that Jesus was sent to wipe all of our sins away. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”(1 John 1:7). Now this doesn’t give us a “get out of jail free” card to commit sinful acts and thoughts constantly. What it means is that once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and make a real effort to live according to God’s word we will have abundant and everlasting life.
We must teach our children this principle. They can find comfort in knowing that there was one that came before them that was free from sin and He will be with them every step of the way. We must also seek Him to give us the wisdom and knowledge that we need to properly parent our children.

Feature Friday
Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at Savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Esther Hawkins. She currently resides in Springfield, MO. Esther is a vibrant mother and a Naturopathic Doctor. She uses her blog to offer natural health advice to families (www.hawkinshealth.com).
Ester grew up in a Christian home and knew the Lord at a young age. She said, “My Mum and Dad were saved in college so I grew up in a Christian home.” She didn’t remember the very moment that she received salvation, but she remembers a personal encounter. She explained, “I don’t remember a specific salvation date, but I do remember feeling convicted of my sin when I was about six, and then when I was nine I moved schools and found it very difficult. During that struggle, I had a personal encounter with God that set the foundation for a dynamic and ongoing relationship with Him.”
When I asked Esther what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she said, “My foundation, walk and goal is an intimate relationship with God – to love Him and be loved by Him. I have given Him my life and it is my privilege and joy to walk in obedience to Him. I’ve been amazed at the places God has taken me and the opportunities He has given me to do the things I love, whenever I have surrendered everything to Him. I seem to be more effective and to accomplish more when I lay down my own plans and agendas and simply listen and obey on a day to day basis.”
Her favorite scripture is currently 1 Corinthians 2:9, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.” She explained, “I picture God like an excited parent who has just bought an incredible surprise for his child, something he knows they will absolutely love. He can’t wait to give it to them and see the look on their face when they open their gift.” She went on to say, “Everyday of our life can be like that – an exciting discovery of hope and joy. God is also very practical, He knows our needs and desires and I believe it delights Him to fulfill them.”
Esther wanted to leave our mothers with these words…”There’s no doubt that motherhood can be a challenging and often daunting task. God is available to us in every moment and decision no matter how small. These children, while being such a blessing to us, were not given to us for our benefit. God has a purpose for us as women and a purpose for our children.”

Too Busy For God
Hello everyone, I hope your day has gotten off to a great start! My day is going pretty well, just busy as usual. Sometimes I wonder is it really necessary to be so busy, and what am I so busy doing? It seems as though we all have a tendency to get caught up in the everyday things that life may throw our way and we end up being way too busy.
Every week I make a To Do List of things to accomplish and it never fails that day by day I end up adding many other things to the list. The To Do List literally goes on and on! In the midst of frantically attempting to complete my To Do List I sometimes miss out on my prayer, devotion and study time. I get so frustrated with myself and keep saying that I am going to do better. In reality, I need to stop talking about it and just plain out be about it.
We should never let our daily “busyness” allow us to be too busy for God. I shutter to think how awful I would feel if God were too busy for me. What if at the very moment that I asked for salvation God was too busy? Or, if when I prayed to God He was too busy to answer? That would definitely not be a good look! I am so thankful that God is always there whenever I need Him, no matter what. “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deuteronomy 31:8).
That makes me think of a song by Ashanti that was popular when I was living footloose and fancy free in the world. The song went a little something like this… “Baby, I'm not always there when you call, but I'm always on time.” I feel like that’s how it is with God. He may not always answer our prayers when and how we want Him to, but He always works things out right on time.

Mommies we have to keep our children prayed up and constantly put Gods word in their hearts.
Monday’s passage read, “Our little one you are wise, and shine like the brightness of the firmament. You will turn many to righteousness, and like the stars they will be too numerous to count. Persist in listening to God.” When I pray over my son at night I usually pray that the Lord uses Him to help win many souls for Kingdom. So, when I read this passage on Monday night it resonated in my spirit. I thank God that He has put me in a position to raise my children up in the way of the Lord so that they can know Him and His commandments at an early age.
Considering the state of affairs today and all of the pressures that young children face, we should equip our kids with the necessary armor to be a shining light in a dark world. “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16). Won’t it be so wonderful to have our children leading their friends to salvation? As I look back I kind of wish that I had friends during my adolescence years to give me Godly advice and lead me to salvation. This is just one of many reasons that we should proactively seek to lead our family and friends to salvation. By helping to lead them to salvation we could be adding to the Kingdom in so many ways.
When you think about it, helping one person to get saved is actually like helping many to be saved. It’s like paying it forward. For example, my mother receiving salvation led to me and my sister receiving salvation and our walks have touched and will continue to touch many others. By the way, little sis gave her life to the Lord this past Sunday! So, remember that we are here to shine our lights for the world to see and lead as many to the Kingdom as we possibly can. What better way to do this than by raising warriors to carry out this mission as well?
