Thursday Prayer

It’s Thursday and you know what that means; today is our designated day of prayer. We will pray together today at 6:30 pm. If you are not able to physically make it to the prayer meeting location you can join us in spirit. We are praying that God’s will is done in the lives of his faithful servants and that millions will receive salvation this year. We will say a special prayer of wisdom, protection, and divine guidance for our leaders, law enforcers and medical providers. Also, let’s not forget to keep Haiti, Chile and China in our prayers in wake of their devastation's. In addition to your prayers please donate whatever you can to aid in their time of need.

As always we will pray that many mothers will be blessed by this ministry and great works will be done through this ministry. We will continue to stand on our weekly prayer points listed below. It is so important that we stand together in prayer, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20).

We will continue to pray that love is the motivating force behind EVERYTHING that we do and that we operate in love at ALL times, especially when we don’t feel like it. For the word tells us, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8). The word also says, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” (John 15:12). If we can just learn to love always, no matter what, things will turn out well and happiness will be sure to follow.

Weekly prayer points are as follows…
Our family, friends and loved ones receive salvation and live lives that are submitted to the Lord.
We maintain health and strength in the midst of it all.
The hearts of men are being changed and turning towards the love of God.
Our children are always covered by the blood of Jesus and they make Godly decisions and live submitted lives.
We are continually filled with the heart and mind of Christ Jesus.
We are standing with all the mothers attached to this ministry and mothers worldwide that God’s will be done in their lives.
Thank you for standing with us and lifting up the prayer requests that have been laid before us. Remember to thank Him in advance. God bless you!

Scriptural focus for today's prayer meeting: “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”(Ephesians 4:16)

Until our next appointed meeting time. Stay tuned for more words of encouragement and inspiration for M.O.M.’s near and far! Word Wednesday

Today is officially “Word Wednesday” otherwise known as “Hump Day.” We’ve made it half way through yet another week on the wonderful, exciting and bumpy road of motherhood. Therefore, some of us are looking for some encouraging words to make it through the rest of the week with Joy and Peace. At night before my son goes to bed, in addition to reading bible stories, I read him a passage out of Prayers That Avail Much, First Blessings for Your Child by Germaine Copeland. Mommies we have to keep our children prayed up and constantly put Gods Word in their hearts.

Monday’s passage read, “Little one, I bless you with eyes that look right ahead, with fixed purpose, as you consider well the path of your feet. I pray that all your ways will be established and ordered aright by Him.” As Christians it is important that we “keep our eyes on the prize” so to speak. We should always remember our purpose and press on towards the mark of the high calling. Philippians 3:12-14 reads, “I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

We are not perfect, but we can all strive for perfection. I can remember as a child being told, “Reach for the moon because even if you miss you will land among the stars.” We can still speak this to our children today, but let’s add a deeper spiritual component to this phrase. We can explain to our kids that if they keep their focus on God and the things of God, they will be winners in all things. Our children not only need to hear this, but they also need to see us focusing on His purpose and walking a path of righteousness.

Until our next appointed meeting time. Stay tuned for more words of encouragement and inspiration for M.O.M.’s near and far! Nutritional Suicide

Happy Monday, well the super busy weekend has come and gone and now we are back to some sense of normalcy. Most of you all know that I have a tendency to be a little extreme in the things that I do at times. Much to my husbands chagrin, I have taken on yet another “project” for the month. For some strange reason, since my childhood, I have constantly created one project after another leading to a string of projects lurking overhead. Now, I must say I usually complete the projects, but I don’t seem to space them out far enough. This really annoys my husband. He understands the vision, but doesn’t always understand the process.

My most recent “project” is driven by my research on healthy living. I am always looking for ways to improve my health and the health of those around me. I recently discovered that most of our produce has lost as much as 60% of its nutritional value once it meets our kitchen table. This is due to the fact that a large majority of our fresh produce has traveled between 1500 and 2000 miles before reaching our local grocery stores! As most of us know, our produce has also been pumped with horrible growth hormones and sprayed with terrible pesticides.

Well, for the past few years I have been purchasing my produce from a local co-op that sells all organic. I always assumed that because it was a local co-op the produce was locally grown. Last week after some very detailed question asking, I found out that the produce comes in from Florida by way of SOUTH AMERICA! Boy was I unhappy when I discovered that important bit of information.

This led to my most recently self-created project. I am on a quest to find a place where I can purchase organic, locally grown produce with a good selection of fruits and vegetables and reasonably priced products. In my quest, I found a great website which links local farmers and people like you and I together. This website is www.localharvest.org. This is such a good resource for people seeking to eat better all over the United States. I have narrowed my search down to three local Farmers Markets that are held one day each week. These markets are set up for local farmers to come in and sell the produce grown on their farms.

This weekend my husband and I will venture out to one of these markets in hopes of striking gold. I really wish more people would come to the realization that more deaths are caused with a knife and a fork than any other object. We are literally committing nutritional suicide. Our food supply is very tainted, at least 51% of our food consumption should be RAW, processed food is not the answer and most of us are extremely vitamin and mineral deficient. Just about every disease can be linked back to some type of nutrient deficiency or toxins that aren’t being cleaned out of our bodies. Please take care of yourselves and teach your children how to eat and care for their bodies properly, God gave us one temple to guard, so let’s take that task seriously!

Today I will leave you with the words of John 3:2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Until our next appointed meeting time. Feature Friday

Happy Friday to all! As I prepared for my weekend, I realized that I will be attending three graduations between today and tomorrow. I’m sure most of you all know someone that will be graduating this year as well. So this Feature Friday I would like to feature all of our graduates and wish them many blessings and much favor as they embark upon the next chapter of their lives.

Graduation is a major milestone for many and those of us that have lived long enough to have gained wisdom should be willing to pass a few jewels along to these young men and women. The Word explains, “Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding,” (Proverbs 3:13).

As one graduates and prepares to enter the next phase of life, there are a few important topics that need to be discussed. Of course, their spiritual well being should be at the top of the list. Let’s take this opportunity to minister to these young individuals. I sure wish someone would have ministered the Gospel to me during that major life transition. Now, we don’t have to be super “deep” about it, but simply planting a small seed can go a long way.

One of the other important topics of discussion after graduation should be proper financial management. Now, most of you all know that I am an advocate of the Dave Ramsey way of teaching financial principles and wealth building. So, I feel that Financial Peace by Dave Ramsey would be a great book to give graduates as gifts. The books are currently being offered on the website (www.daveramsey.com) at the discounted price of $10! To ensure that they actually read this book, you could offer a $50 gift upon completion of a well put together book report.

These are just my personal thoughts regarding this topic. I know that I would have had a greater jump start on life if someone simply ministered to my spirit and my finances upon graduation; just a little food for thought. Now, let’s go out and show some love to our future leaders of America!

Until our next appointed meeting time. Stay tuned for more words of encouragement and inspiration for M.O.M.’s near and far! Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Yesterday’s passage read, “May the Lord impart to you a desire to do good to those who deserve it when it is in your power to act.” As Christian parents it is important that we teach our children to do good unto others. The Word tells us, “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.” (Proverbs 3:27). This holds true not only for our children, but for us as well. How many times have you seen someone in need that you could help, but you just didn’t feel like doing so? Sometimes we have to put our carnal nature aside and have a willingness to help our fellow brothers and sisters even when we don’t want to. Our children must too understand that when they are in a position to help their fellow brethren that they should do so.

In my study, I read past Proverbs 3:27 to the next verse, “Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back later; I'll give it tomorrow"— when you now have it with you. (Proverbs 3:28). After reading this verse I realized that I have been guilty of doing just what the Word says not to do. It is time for us to make the necessary efforts to do good to those who deserve it when it is in our power to act. Let’s stop making excuses and truly live out the living Word of God!

Mentoring on Purpose

Happy Monday to all! So last week came and passed and hubby and I were faced with the realization that vacation was over and we are back to reality as we know it. Although, “back to reality” isn’t bad at all, but vacation was absolutely amazing!

On Saturday my husband and the young man that he mentors spent time going over school work, playing pool and enjoying some friendly video game competition. It really warmed my heart to see their interaction with one another. It was so fulfilling to see just how much this young man looks up to my husband. Often times we don’t realize how much of an impact a few hours of mentoring can have on an individual.

I have been mentoring off and on for the last 10 years now and I have found so much joy in doing so. I wish more people would take time to touch the lives of our young people. There are so many young boys and girls that grow up in broken homes and never have a role model to spend time with them on a consistent basis. I know many people may feel that they are too busy to mentor someone, but it really only takes a few hours of your time every month.

A mentoring relationship is not only rewarding to the mentee, but it is also rewarding to the mentor. There’s so much that we can learn from these young people and it’s great parenting practice as well! When you have been blessed it’s important to give back and pass those blessings on to others. While mentoring these children you can also share the love of God with them. The Word tells us, “…I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” (1 Corinthians 9:22-23).

You can find young people to mentor via your church, your children’s school, or mentoring organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters. Why don’t we all take a few hours away from our TV time and mentor a young child in need, while setting a great example for our children as well.

We have several prayer requests for today. They are as follows: Manifested healing from recent surgery for Mrs. B. Press and Mrs. C. Simmons.

As always we will pray that many mothers will be blessed by this ministry and great works will be done through this ministry. We will continue to stand on our weekly prayer points listed below. Scriptural focus for today's prayer meeting: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Mathew 5:16).

I have been led to use this scripture for several weeks now. Please make sure that you are letting you light shine at ALL times. You never know who’s looking up to you for spiritual guidance.

Sunday’s passage read, “I bless you with a desire for insight so that you may raise your voice for understanding, seek for wisdom as silver and search for skillful and godly wisdom as for hidden treasures.” After reading this passage and the biblical reference in several times, I gained a deeper understanding of this passage. The biblical reference comes from Proverbs 2:3-6, “and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

For many years Christians have gone to their friends, family and love ones for advice about a situation that they were facing, instead of seeking insight from the Lord. God left His living Word so that we may attain the knowledge and wisdom to handle anything that may come our way. What a joy it would be for our children to receive understanding of this principle at a young age. Just imagine how much differently you would have handled situations throughout the years if you had clear understanding of this precept early on.

It’s funny that even after knowing that we should seek wisdom and knowledge from God; some of us still choose to search for it from others. Doesn’t it just make sense to first seek council from the one that knows your beginning, your end and everything in between? So the next time you are faced with something that you need guidance on, search for insight from God first and watch what happens.

CORRECTED POST-R & R Meets Prioritization

Hi there beautiful and lovely people! Wow, it feels good to be back to the wonderful world of blogging. Hubby and I just returned from a much needed V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N! We sailed the high seas and enjoyed EVERY minute of it. It’s so important to take time for a little R & R every once in a while.

Motherhood has a tendency to become a bit overwhelming at times and we all can benefit from some time off. Even if you can’t go on a cruise or even leave town, it’s good to at least take a day or two off for you. If you are a single mother or a family without relatives nearby maybe you could work out a “buddy break” system with another mother or family. You all can take turns giving each other time for a little rest and relaxation.

While hubby and I were on vacation we had a chance to really enjoy one another without the daily “distractions” and interruptions. Having children is an absolutely beautiful thing, but sometimes us married mothers allow the kids to take priority over our husbands. Unfortunately, a lot of Christian women have a tendency to forget, or just aren’t aware of the fact that we are not to put our children before our husbands.

It is laid out in Colossians as follows… “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love [your] wives, and be not bitter against them. Children, obey [your] parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.” (Colossians 3:18-20). Then also you will find in Ephesians, “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” (Ephesians 5:22-24). This verse does not say “submit to their husbands in somethings.” It says, “submit to their husbands in everything.”

So wives, make sure you are keeping the priorities in line. Also, to ALL of my M.O.M.’s make sure to take time to get rejuvenated, your family and friends will thank you for it later. Just remember, if mom isn’t happy, nobody is happy. With that being said, Happy Belated Mother’s Day!
