CORRECTED POST-R & R Meets Prioritization

Hi there beautiful and lovely people! Wow, it feels good to be back to the wonderful world of blogging. Hubby and I just returned from a much needed V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N! We sailed the high seas and enjoyed EVERY minute of it. It’s so important to take time for a little R & R every once in a while.

Motherhood has a tendency to become a bit overwhelming at times and we all can benefit from some time off. Even if you can’t go on a cruise or even leave town, it’s good to at least take a day or two off for you. If you are a single mother or a family without relatives nearby maybe you could work out a “buddy break” system with another mother or family. You all can take turns giving each other time for a little rest and relaxation.

While hubby and I were on vacation we had a chance to really enjoy one another without the daily “distractions” and interruptions. Having children is an absolutely beautiful thing, but sometimes us married mothers allow the kids to take priority over our husbands. Unfortunately, a lot of Christian women have a tendency to forget, or just aren’t aware of the fact that we are not to put our children before our husbands.

It is laid out in Colossians as follows… “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love [your] wives, and be not bitter against them. Children, obey [your] parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.” (Colossians 3:18-20). Then also you will find in Ephesians, “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” (Ephesians 5:22-24). This verse does not say “submit to their husbands in somethings.” It says, “submit to their husbands in everything.”

So wives, make sure you are keeping the priorities in line. Also, to ALL of my M.O.M.’s make sure to take time to get rejuvenated, your family and friends will thank you for it later. Just remember, if mom isn’t happy, nobody is happy. With that being said, Happy Belated Mother’s Day!

Until our next appointed meeting time. Stay tuned for more words of encouragement and inspiration for M.O.M.’s near and far!
