Severe Weather

Good Day to all! It’s good to be back to the wonderful world of blogging! Breaks are great, but I missed writing and sharing with you all last week. As some of you know, I am in the metro Atlanta area of Georgia. It has been raining very heavily for the last few days now. There have been severe thunderstorms and flooding all over our area.

My mother-in-law called this morning to let my husband know that a lot of the roads were flooding and she wanted to tell him to be safe on his drive into work. We immediately turned on the news to check on the roadways and to get an update on the weather for the remainder of the day. There were other moments over the weekend in which we turned on the news to get updates regarding the severe weather.

This series of events led me to a thought… I sat back and said to myself, “What if when we experienced major problems and issues during life we went to our bibles just as quickly as we turn on the news when there is bad weather?” Now there’s an idea. So many of us get caught up in our mini crisis moments and seek help or comfort in everything except for the Word. Some people choose to talk to others about their problems, some people find solace in vices (i.e. food, drugs, alcohol) and some people just hold it all in until it manifests into depression or sickness.

God provided us with the ultimate instruction manual for life, but how often do we use it to deal with the problems that we face day to day? His Word was given so that we are equipped to face any situation that may come our way. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is vitally important for so many reasons that we constantly keep Gods Word in our eyes, ears and hearts. We must also be sure to get the Word into our children as well. So remember, the next time that you are having a mini or mega crisis, you know exactly where to turn.

Be sure to stay tuned for more words of encouragement and inspiration for M.O.M.’s near and far! Please share this blog with as many people as you know (www.savedmom.com), we have so many lives to touch.
