Noah’s Ark

We recently celebrated my son’s birthday and I charged myself with the task of finding fun things to do as a family on a very small budget. My husband shared with me that as a part of the birthday weekend festivities, he wanted to take our son to do something that would involve exposure to different types of animals. I figured I could probably find a good zoo deal online, but didn’t find much of anything. Then I attempted to secure a good deal at a petting zoo, still no major breaks. After that I tried my hand at farm deals, still nothing great turned up.

I eventually stumbled upon Noah’s Ark, which is an animal habitat located about 40 minutes outside of Atlanta, GA. I was ecstatic when I found out that we could go there and see a whole host of different types of animals for absolutely FREE! I didn’t really know what we would have in store when we got there and my hopes weren’t all that high since we didn’t have to pay anything to get in. However, after having such a great experience we will definitely visit again.

We were able to walk along a pre-set path and see many animals in their habitat, plus enjoy nature trails as well. We saw lions, tigers, emus, bears, ostriches, birds, primates, wolves and so many other great animals. Our son really enjoyed the trip, but I think my husband enjoyed it the most. It was nice to stroll in such a peaceful environment and even nicer to see animals being so well cared for. The scenery was great and the price for admission was even better!

Noah’s Ark provides a loving home for unwanted, abused and orphaned animals and children. They are a non-profit organization that operates their facility with a foundation on God’s unconditional love. Visitors are allowed to leave tax-deductable donations during the visit, which we gladly did. Their grounds are very well kept and their service is impeccable. They even have an outdoor eating area equipped with grills, shade trees and tables plus a newly built playground. This would be a wonderful place to take your family for a day out or even to have a small outdoor birthday celebration. If you want to find out more information about the facility you can visit their website at www.noahs-ark.org.

As parents, it’s important that we expose our children to many different types of experiences. People often feel that doing so means spending lots of money, but if you put on your thinking cap and utilize internet resources, you will be amazed at what you can find. I’m so happy to have found Noah’s Ark, and the fact that they are a Christian-based organization was just icing on the cake!

I love this, Shonte'! I'm always looking for different inexpensive places to take the kids to. I never thought about visiting an animal habitat. I'm going to check into that because I know our kids would love that too!

Thanks for sharing this today. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!! Love you!
