Prayer and Thanksgiving

Well, today is our designated day of prayer. We haven’t received any special prayer request for this week so we will stand on our prayer points from last week. Plus I would like to add a prayer of thanksgiving. On yesterday my son had to go to the hospital to receive a routine surgical procedure. There was nothing wrong; it was just an outpatient procedure that needed to be preformed. Praise God all went well and he is home with Mommie, resting as we speak.

As mothers we have so much to be thankful for, whether we realize it or not. So as we pray today, I want us to also pray for thanksgiving. Not only should we be thankful for the things that God has already done, but for the things that he is going to do. When we pray we should already have a heart of thanksgiving. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6). Therefore, we will give thanks in andvance for the prayers that we will stand on at 6:30 pm today. See below…

Our prayer requests are as follows…
We are praying that our family, friends and loved ones receive salvation and live lives that are submitted to the Lord.
We are praying that we maintain health and strength in the midst of it all.
We are praying that our children are always covered by the blood of Jesus and they make godly decisions and live submitted lives.
We are also standing with all the mothers attached to this ministry that God’s will be done in their lives.
Thank you for standing with us and lifting up the prayer requests that have been laid before us. Remember to thank Him in advance. God bless you!

Prayer Requests

We are about to have our weekly prayer meeting in less than an hour. We have several prayer requests that we are asking that you stand with us in. We will begin prayer around 12 noon today and would love for you to join us where ever you may be. If you can’t pray with us at 12 you can stand with us in what we are praying for today whenever your schedule permits.

First we want to start our prayer by asking that the Lord help us all to operate in love at all times. For the word tells us, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8). The word also says, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” (John 15:12). If we can just learn to love always, no matter what, things will always turn out well and happiness will be sure to follow.

Our prayer requests are as follows…

Two or More

What a beautiful day and awesome start to a lovely week to come. I thank God that we all made it through another wonderful weekend! I didn’t get a chance to blog about last Thursdays prayer meeting due to the Feature Friday post. Although, I can’t let another post go by without talking about the mighty move of God that took place!

Our prayer meeting started just like they always do, but the Holy Spirit showed up like never before. I thank God for what he is doing with this ministry and for the mothers that are being blessed by it. When we gathered together on last Thursday the Holy Spirit fell in this place and stayed for a while. I truly believe yokes were broken and burdens were removed.

If you are in the Atlanta area I would love for you to come out and pray with us. I also want to open prayer up to those that are not able to make it or that may live outside of the Atlanta area. Please feel free to stand with us in prayer at the times listed on the page. I will start including a brief prayer outline in the Thursday blog entries so that you can stand with us in what we are praying for on that day.

Prayer is vitally important to our walk with our heavenly Father. However, that prayer is even more powerful when we stand in prayer together. The word tells us, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20). We should pray with one another and with our children also. They need us to show them how to properly pray and to teach them to make prayer a daily part of their lives. Let’s stand together and call in the sprit of the Lord through the power of prayer.

Word Wednesday

Today is officially “Word Wednesday” otherwise known as “Hump Day”. We’ve made it half way through yet another week on the wonderful, exciting and bumpy road of motherhood. Therefore, some of us are looking for some encouraging words to make it through the rest of the week with Joy and Peace. Every night before little Caleb goes to bed in addition to reading bible stories; I read him a passage out of “Prayers That Avail Much, First Blessings for Your Child” by Germaine Copeland. Special thanks to Marco and Virginia for blessing us with this book! Mommies we have to keep our kiddies prayed up and constantly put Gods word in their heart.

Last nights passage read, “There is a time to be silent and a time to speak. May you know His time and purpose for everything. May you do what is right in the eyes of God and be a good example to others.” Not only is this passage relevant and necessary for our children, but it speaks to us as well. So many times we speak too soon and aren’t silent enough. We have to learn to listen more and speak less, especially us women! Have you ever wondered why God gave us two ears and one mouth? Turning focus back to the passage, it especially applies to the way in which we deal with our children. They need to know that we care about what they have to say. I so appreciate the fact that my mother always gave me the opportunity to voice my feelings. That doesn’t mean that I always got my way, but at least I knew that she cared and that she was listening. Our children need to know that we are always there to listen to what they have to say. When was the last time you asked your child about his or her day and really listened? We also have to know what to say when it’s time to speak. Let’s not practice the “what comes up comes out” method. There is so much power in the tongue. The word says, “My lips will not speak wickedness, and my tongue will utter no deceit.” (Job 27:4). No matter how frustrated our children or anyone else makes us, please think before you speak. Once the words are out, you can’t take them back.

The passage also tells us that we should do what is right in the eyes of God and be a good example. Our children are literally watching everything that we do. Baby girl is watching you look in the mirror as you complain about that baby bump that never quite went away. And we wonder why five year old little girls are so vain. This is a small example of a much larger problem. We want our kids to do what is right, but we must first lead by example. “For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.” (2 Corinthians 8:21).

As you go about your daily tasks throughout the remainder of this week be sure to remember there are small eyes and large eyes watching your every move. May the Lord give you the wisdom to know what to say and when to say it. Live your life as though the camera is always in record mode, for the world to see.
