Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at Savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature Saved M.O.M.’s near and far. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Cree Davis. She currently resides in Atlanta, GA. Cree is an awesome and beautiful wife, mother of two, philanthropist and entrepreneur.
When I asked Cree how she came to know the Lord she shared, “I began my personal relationship with the Lord the night I found out my father was shot and killed. My grandfather was a firefighter; he had a scanner in the house, so he would be informed right away if any emergencies occurred. The night of my father’s death my grandfathers scanner started to speak of a man that was just shot to death and my mother heard my father’s name, Roy Stanford.” As you can imagine this news was devastating to the entire family. Cree went on to explain, “My mother became very ill. As my family prepped to tell me what was going on, though I was only twelve, I could already sense something very bad in the pit of my stomach, my heart started to hurt and I couldn’t swallow. When I heard the words, “Your father was killed”, I began to weep. I was totally a daddy’s girl. I went into the room where my bed was and knelt down to pray. I didn’t really know what to say or how to pray at this point, but I knew I had to figure it out. I needed God right away. I began to pray a sincere childlike prayer to God asking why this happened to me and to help. I remember the pain in my heart disappearing; I felt better. I remember getting up from the floor and I was no longer thinking about myself, but my mother.” This was Cree’s first personal experience with God and it gave her a peace like never before. This experience allowed her to understand death at a very early age. Cree said, “God also spoke to me and said, “It’s ok to miss your earthly father, but no worries my daughter, I am your heavenly father and I will never leave you, I will be with you forever”. I am now God’s “Daddy’s Girl”…”
During our interview Cree shared what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her, she shared, “[It] has been such a blessing. This organization [Saved M.O.M.] has allowed me to not be so engulfed in my personal family life to the point I forget to pray and send love out for other mothers that do not have the energy/strength to pray for themselves and their families. In our prayer meetings we pray for each other, mothers that are in attendance, mothers that send in prayer request and for all mothers in our country.” She went on to say, “Since joining Saved M. O. M., my passion to step outside of my situations into other mothers situations has grown immensely. Out of my love and passion to pray and help other mothers God has been doing marvelous things for my family. Thank you Saved M.O.M. for being bold and on fire for God…never watered down!”
Cree’s favorite scripture is, “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” 1 John 4:16. She wanted to share these words of encouragement with our mothers…”Ask God for a deep love and passion to pray for other mothers. You never know what another mother is going through and she may not have the energy to pray her herself. It will also show you that you are not alone in your daily struggles as a mother and your situation may not be as bad as you think.
Cree is a full time stay-at-home mom, Founder of Big Sis Lil Sis Inc. www.bigsislilsisinc.org, President of Mocha Moms of South Fulton www.mochamomsofsouthfulton.org and CEO of Sheek Furniture www.sheekfurniture.com. Feel free to check out this busy woman of God and join her in her efforts via the aforementioned sites. Her quote for today is… “I am a work in progress… God is creating a masterpiece in me!”

Word Wednesday
Today is officially “Word Wednesday” otherwise known as “Hump Day.” We’ve made it half way through yet another week on the wonderful, exciting and bumpy road of motherhood. Therefore, some of us are looking for some encouraging words to make it through the rest of the week with Joy and Peace. At night before my son goes to bed, in addition to reading bible stories, I read him a passage out of Prayers That Avail Much, First Blessings for Your Child by Germaine Copeland. Mommies we have to keep our children prayed up and constantly put Gods word in their hearts.
Sunday’s passage read, “I pray that you will trust in the Lord and be unmoved by any circumstance.” This is a very short passage, but it packs a lot of power. I certainly don’t want to be a fair weather Christian that caves in anytime a trial comes my way and I definitely don’t want to raise children that are that way either. As believers, we have to stand strong on God’s word and walk in faith no matter what. “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7). It’s easy to let circumstances and situations throw us off track, but those are the times that we need to let our faith guide us through.
I still have moments in which I get frustrated and irritated, but I have to soon remind myself that I am a child of God and activate my faith instead of being led by my frustration. This also allows me the opportunity to show my child the proper way to get through in those moments. Lets always trust in the Lord and be unmoved by ANY circumstance.

Take Time for You
Good day to all!!! So here we are at the top of another week in the exciting world of motherhood. Well, as I sat down in font of my laptop this morning, I prayed to God regarding the topic of bloggersation for today, then God said, “Tell mommies to take a little time for self.” Boy, did this resonate in my spirit!
As mothers we often do things to keep everything and everyone else in order, but what about us? We take care of the house, we take care of the kids, we take care of our families, we take care of business, but when do we take care of ourselves? I can recall a conversation that I had with my cousin several years back. She was telling me about some health problems that she had been experiencing. In the midst of her describing her pains and ailments, I asked her when she had last been to see her primary care physician for a physical. Can you believe she couldn’t even remember? She said, “I’m always so busy making sure the kids are on schedule with their appointments that I forget to stay on top of my appointments.” Unfortunately, this is a reoccurring story for many mothers out there.
Yes, we should definitely be there for our families, but we have to take care of ourselves too. Most of us have experienced being on an airplane as the stewardess goes through the emergency safety protocol. They always tell us to secure our oxygen masks first before helping others. There’s a reason that they explain the protocol that way. How can we help anyone else if our “oxygen mask” isn’t safely secured? This analogy plays out in “real life” as well. We must be sure that we are taking care of ourselves spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally so that we can have the strength and energy to take care of all else.
This means that we all need “MOMMIE TIME” and we need it often. It could be a 15 minute relaxing bubble bath, an evening out with the girls, quiet meditation time, a massage at the local spa, or whatever helps you have a few moments to rest and relax. Don’t feel bad about taking time for you. Even God Himself took time to rest. The word tells us, “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.” (Genesis 2:2).
On Saturday, I enjoyed a wonderful day with my mother and my sister. It’s funny when I think back on how the outing began. My mother came by to pick me up and wanted to know why my son wasn’t joining us. I told her that since we were going to be out all day I didn’t want him to miss out on his nap because he would get cranky. Although, I just realized I really just wanted some mommie time without any kids around, and that’s okay. When is the last time that you took a rest break?

Feature Friday
Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at Savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature Saved M.O.M.’s near and far. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Tierra Destiny Reid. She currently resides in Stone Mountain, GA. Tierra is a vibrant, beautiful and talented military wife, mother of two and entrepreneur fashionista.
Tierra gave her life to the Lord at a very early age. She recalled, “As a young girl I was raised loving the Lord! My mother was a single parent for a long time and she couldn’t drive for a while and I remember riding the bus to make it to church!” Tierra recommitted her life to the Lord after graduating from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!!!). Her relationship with God has grown stronger throughout the years. She explained, “God and I have a very strong relationship and I am grateful for the ability to hear Him so clearly whenever I need His guidance.”
When I asked Tierra what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she said, “It means incorporating God in everything that I do! It also means making sacrifices today that my children will not have to make tomorrow.” The scriptures that she stands on time and time again are Philippians 4:13 and Psalms 27:14. She said, “[These scriptures] have proven to be true over and over again in my life.”
Tierra wanted to leave our mothers with these words… “When you make things about God, your life, your decisions and even your thoughts…He rejoices and therefore will give you the strength and love you need to overcome and achieve anything your heart desires! I am constantly learning and growing and I feel his arms squeezing me so tight right now! It feels so good to have his confirmation and love.” Tierra recently stepped out on faith and opened her boutique, Stylish Consignments. She said, “Stepping out on faith feels better than I imagined and leaves me speechless at times. So many doors are already open, just waiting for us to walk through them. Sometimes people focus on the doors that are closed and wait to say, "When one door closes another one opens…" Well I have found it to be true, several doors are there just waiting for you to take the first step inside.”
Tierra has always had a knack and love for fashion and will be celebrating the grand opening of her boutique this weekend just outside of Atlanta, GA. She explained, “Resale industry was inspired by my natural love for fashion and my mother’s gift to always find an impeccable deal!” Learn more about her and the business at www.stylishconsignments.com. The grand opening will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 10 am-4 pm at 5514 Lawrenceville Hwy, Suite E, Lilburn, GA, 30047. Tierra’s favorite quote is, “If not you then who if not now then when. She explained, “I actually wrote this quote on my mirror when I decided not to work for anyone else until I gave myself a shot. It inspires me.”

Thursday Prayer
It’s Thursday and you know what that means; today is our designated day of prayer. We will pray together today at 6:30 pm. If you are not able to physically make it to the prayer meeting location you can join us in spirit. We have received a few prayer requests for this week. We have a mother that has been diagnosed with advanced stages of breast cancer and we will pray for her healing. We also have another mother that would like for us to pray for her to get back in shape and for the renewal of her strength. In addition, I am praying that millions of mothers will be touched by this ministry and great works will be done through it. We will pray that God’s will is done in each of these situations. We will also continue to stand on our weekly prayer points listed below. It is so important that we stand together in prayer, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20).
Love should be the motivating force behind EVERYTHING that we do. So I also want to continue to pray that we operate in love at ALL times, especially when we don’t feel like it. For the word tells us, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8). The word also says, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” (John 15:12). If we can just learn to love always, no matter what, things will always turn out well and happiness will be sure to follow.
Weekly prayer points are as follows…
We are praying that our family, friends and loved ones receive salvation and live lives that are submitted to the Lord.
We are praying that we maintain health and strength in the midst of it all.
We are praying that our children are always covered by the blood of Jesus and they make godly decisions and live submitted lives.
We are also standing with all the mothers attached to this ministry and mothers worldwide that God’s will be done in their lives.
Thank you for standing with us and lifting up the prayer requests that have been laid before us. Remember to thank Him in advance. God bless you!

Mommies we have to keep our children prayed up and constantly put Gods word in their hearts.
Yesterday’s passage read, “May you be quick to hear, and slow to speak and slow to become angry.” Most of us have heard someone say, “We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.” Through the years I have had to learn to practice this rule more and more. We must realize that words have a lot of power and once we release them into the atmosphere we can’t take them back. The word tells us, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21). We have to be prepared to eat the fruit that we release from our mouths.
I can remember saying this in my youth, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” Boy was that a big lie! I allowed words to hurt me many times in my life and through that I learned that I should ALWAYS think before speaking. We have all said things that we wished we could have taken back, but couldn’t. Over time I have realized the importance of thinking before speaking and to not allow anger to overtake me. Now that I understand these important principles, I will be sure to teach them to my children.
As parents we should use the lessons that we have learned in our lives help us lead our children in the right direction. We don’t want them to make the same mistakes that we have made. Of course, there are some things that they will have to learn through experience, but we can certainly use our experiences to advise them and direct their paths.

Stepping Out
It’s the top of the week and once again I am full of joy and excitement! I’m looking forward to all of the wonderful things that the Lord has prepared for us. So, I just got off of the phone with one of my close friends from college. I am so happy for her and proud of what she’s doing. On this weekend we will celebrate the grand opening of her boutique right outside of Atlanta, GA. This blessing has been such a long time in the making and the best is yet to come!
When we were in college she was a Fashion Merchandising major and always had such an incredible knack for fashion. She worked for Macy’s corporate office as a buyer for the past several years. The longer that she worked in that position, the more her yearning for owning a boutique grew. We had several conversations about her stepping out on faith and opening her own store, but fear of the unknown stood in the way. Well, while on maternity leave with her second child earlier this year, she received news that her department was being downsized and that her position would be phased out. Fortunately, there was a great severance package that would help fund her dream!
She was still a little apprehensive about starting the business, but she received so many signs of confirmation from God. In our conversation today she explained how the rest of the pieces of the puzzle came together so easily. I am so blessed to see God’s hand working in her life. This is just another example of how stepping out on faith and binding the spirit of fear can work in your favor! We should always walk by faith no matter what things look or seem like. The word tells us, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Please support our sister in Christ by attending her Grand Opening on this Saturday, October 24th from 10 am – 4 pm. Stylish Consignments is located at 5514 Lawrenceville Hwy Suite E, Lilburn, GA 30047 and the phone number is 770.676.0953. Also, check out the website at www.stylishconsignments.com.

Mommie Blessings,
Shonte’ Press

Thursday Prayer
It’s Thursday and you know what that means; today is our designated day of prayer. We will pray together today at 12 pm. If you are not able to physically make it to the prayer meeting location you can join us in spirit. We have received a few prayer requests for this week. We have a mother that would like for us to stand in agreement with her regarding her grandson’s health and her daughter’s relocation to Atlanta. We also have another mother that was touched by yesterday’s post and wants to make a much needed career move. We will pray that God’s will is done in each of these situations. We will also continue to stand on our weekly prayer points listed below.
We are also standing with all the mothers attached to this ministry that God’s will be done in their lives.
Thank you for standing with us and lifting up the prayer requests that have been laid before us. Remember to thank Him in advance. God bless you!
If you would like to submit your prayer requests please email info@savedmom.com. Be sure to tune in tomorrow for more words of encouragement and inspiration for M.O.M.’s near and far!
Monday’s passage read, “Father God will go before you and take care of everything you will need. His generosity exceeds even ours, in the glory that pours from Jesus.” After I received salvation years ago I didn’t quite understand this basic principle of God supplying all of my needs. It really didn’t occur to me until about 4 years ago when I left a very lucrative and promising Federal Government career to pursue entertainment and entrepreneurship. Many people looked down upon this decision. They thought that it was irrational and that I would later grow to regret doing so. Although, I can honestly say that it was a great decision.
Through the ups and downs of working in the entertainment industry and being a business owner God ALWAYS has supplied ALL of my needs. The word tells us, “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19). So why is it that as believers we often disregard stepping out on faith? We like to stay in our safe little boxes even though we want nothing more than to jump out!
I think that we should teach our children that it’s okay to step out on faith. Now, I don’t think that they should haphazardly do what their flesh wants. They need to know that their decision is inline with God’s word and they should pray and receive direction about what they are doing.
Some of you all are at that point in your lives and fear is holding you back from doing what you need and desire to do. Why don’t you take some time to seek God and His word concerning the issue and pray until you get some direction about it? Let’s live fulfilled lives and do things that make us happy and also give God His glory in the process!

Gifts and Talents
Good day to all!!! What a refreshing weekend it was. Once again I am so excited at the start of yet another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.. Okay, okay, I will explain the source of my present excitement, but of course you have to get the back story first. Well, years ago when I was in college, I used to wear my hair in two-strand twists. There was a young lady that did them for me and she was very talented in natural hair styling. Well, after I graduated she moved out of town. Since that time I haven’t been able to find anyone that could twist my hair as good as she could. She and I have a mutual friend and I would often ask him about her through the years. I made him promise me that if she ever came back to Atlanta he would immediately let me know. So I received a phone call from him two weeks ago and guess who he put on the phone? Yup, you guessed it. My favorite stylist is back in the ATL!!!
On yesterday after church she styled my hair and it is even better than I remembered. I was so giddy sitting in her chair on yesterday. I felt like a kid in a candy store. As I talked to her she was telling me that she hadn’t done hair professionally in a while and she’s been considering reviving her styling career. I told her that she should seriously consider it because it is a true and natural talent for her. She could perfectly style my hair with her eyes closed and not miss a beat!
This led me to think about all of the gifts and talents that the Lord has placed on the inside of us. Each and every one of us has been blessed with special gifts from God. We all have different gifts, but we should use these gifts in accordance with one another to fulfill the will of the Lord. “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. (1 Corinthians 12:4-6).” As long and we walk in our gifts and help our children to discover and walk in their gifts this world will be a much better place. What gifts has God placed on the inside of you? Are you walking in those gifts or just letting them sit idle?

Prayer and Thanksgiving
Well, today is our designated day of prayer. We haven’t received any special prayer request for this week so we will stand on our prayer points from last week. Plus I would like to add a prayer of thanksgiving. On yesterday my son had to go to the hospital to receive a routine surgical procedure. There was nothing wrong; it was just an outpatient procedure that needed to be preformed. Praise God all went well and he is home with Mommie, resting as we speak.
As mothers we have so much to be thankful for, whether we realize it or not. So as we pray today, I want us to also pray for thanksgiving. Not only should we be thankful for the things that God has already done, but for the things that he is going to do. When we pray we should already have a heart of thanksgiving. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6). Therefore, we will give thanks in andvance for the prayers that we will stand on at 6:30 pm today. See below…
Our prayer requests are as follows…
We are praying that our family, friends and loved ones receive salvation and live lives that are submitted to the Lord.
We are praying that we maintain health and strength in the midst of it all.
We are praying that our children are always covered by the blood of Jesus and they make godly decisions and live submitted lives.
We are also standing with all the mothers attached to this ministry that God’s will be done in their lives.
Thank you for standing with us and lifting up the prayer requests that have been laid before us. Remember to thank Him in advance. God bless you!

Showing Appreciation
Wow! We made it through to see another week that is destined to be filled with joy and love. I am so revved up right now! Joyce Meyer Ministries was in Atlanta this past weekend and it was such a blessing to be able to attend the conference. I received so much good word and reading/study material during the event. Pastor Joyce Meyer is truly anointed and brings the word in such a powerful and profound way. You can check her ministry out at www.joycemeyer.org.
Well, I stayed out in Duluth, GA for a couple of days for the conference which caused me to get a bit behind on some business and house work. So, I came back home Saturday afternoon refreshed and rejuvenated only to find that there were so many things that I needed to get done. Although, I couldn’t get to everything right away because I had promised my mentee several weeks ago that I would take her bowling for her birthday. I finished as much as I could in the few hours that I had and then took her bowling. It was late when I got home and of course there was church on Sunday morning.
Well I scrambled to get caught up on things last night. I was so exhausted, but I wanted to catch things up so that I could get off to a fresh start today. I was so thankful when hubby took time away from his football watching (which he thoroughly enjoys) to help me with my “punch list.” I am so blessed to have a husband that looks at our marriage as a team of two instead of a one sided give-take relationship. We all know that team work makes the dream work! It felt so good to wake up knowing that most things on the "punch list" had been taken care. I made sure before I went to bed last night that I let hubby know just how much I appreciated him.
We really must make it a point to let our friends and family know that we appreciate them. We are all members in the body of Christ and we all need each other so that the body can function properly. “... But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.” (1 Corinthians 12-26). We weren’t sent here to do it all alone. We need God and we need one another.

I can’t stress this to mothers enough. We often feel that we have to be superwomen and never ask for help so that our weaknesses won’t be exposed or so we don’t impose upon someone else. I don’t know about you, but my mother always told me that it never hurts to ask. I mean what’s the worst that can happen? Either you are in the same place where you started or you just might receive what you ask for. Just remember when someone is willing to help you in your time of need to show them the appreciation that they deserve.

Prayer Requests
We are about to have our weekly prayer meeting in less than an hour. We have several prayer requests that we are asking that you stand with us in. We will begin prayer around 12 noon today and would love for you to join us where ever you may be. If you can’t pray with us at 12 you can stand with us in what we are praying for today whenever your schedule permits.
First we want to start our prayer by asking that the Lord help us all to operate in love at all times.
