Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at Savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature Saved M.O.M.’s. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am elated to say that this Feature Friday post is dedicated to Mrs. Pearl Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan currently resides in Lanham, MD. She is a devoted wife and mother of three God-ordained daughters whom are very active in ministry. She partners with her husband in pastoral ministry at the New Beginnings Church of God of Prophecy in Lanham, MD and she has been blessed to have the oversight and/or serve in various ministries of the local church.

Mrs. Sullivan came to know the Lord by way of one of her coworkers many years ago. She recalled, “I met her and two other Christians at my place of employment. One of them smugly questioned me concerning the length of my skirt. At that time in my life, my motto was “show all you can while you can.” I angrily approached the other Christian asking her what she had to say about my skirt and she replied, “Nothing, if that’s what you like.” That knocked the steam right out of me. She remained an effective witness, and I eventually accepted her invitation to a Tuesday night prayer meeting.” Mrs. Sullivan decided to accept her co-workers invitation to church. She went on to say, “When it was time to pray I told her I did not know how to pray. She said, “Just say Jesus.” O my, did something happen to me. Everything she witnessed to me concerning Jesus became alive in my mind and in my body. I saw Him, not personified but I saw Him and he showed me—me. Realizing my condition, I cried aloud “Jesus save me” and He did. Sidebar: I was wearing that mini skirt!”

When asked what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her Mrs. Sullivan stated, “That I have been highly favored and commissioned to bring forth words and deeds that will nurture and sustain our children in their life’s journey.” Her favorite scriptures are John 6:67-69… “Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.” After sharing this she said, “My resolve is, no matter what may or may not transpire in my life, I am committed; there is nowhere else for me to go. I am sure and I believe.”

A part of Mrs. Sullivan’s testimony relates to the trials and tribulations she faced in bringing forth life. She explained, “I cried, ached, and prayed to God for a child that I could not seem to have. God spoke to me and told me that I would have a child but I must confess during the process of time I lost faith but God was merciful and I realized His word as spoken in Numbers 23:19. “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Praise God that six years into marriage her first child was born. Then the second child came (unplanned) twenty-two months later. After the birth of her second child God spoke to her again that she would have three daughters in total. Five years later the third child was born. She said, “I love them all dearly and it is such a blessing to see them used by God. Oh, they have their “break your mama’s heart” moments but mama’s peace is—they are ordained of God.”

Mrs. Sullivan wanted to leave these words of wisdom with our mothers, ““Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs 18:21). Moms, we have the authority to speak good and positive things into the lives of all our children. Let’s Do It!” She also shared, “I know the pangs of life and the feelings of “why me.” I have found that in the midst of all the stuff that I endure and all the mistakes I have made, God loves me, right where I am. God loves us and I am commissioned by Him to share this truth. God has birthed in me a “back to the basics” ministry approach. No matter how complicated life’s situations are, the basic truths of God’s word will deliver us from all of them.”

Feature Friday

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at Savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Janyne E. Collins. She currently resides in Kennesaw, GA. Janyne is a mother and a passionate woman of God whom has dedicated her life to helping single mothers.

Janyne received salvation at the age of 21. She recalled, “I was 21 yrs. old and pregnant with my son. My son’s Godmother, my best friend, invited me to study the bible. Five months later I made Jesus Lord of my life.” When asked what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her Janyne explained, “…I am the mother and the father. My son looks to me to be the very best. He counts on me to be an example to him. He counts on me to teach him responsibility. He counts on me to teach him how to love unconditionally. He counts on me to be the God fearing, God loving woman that God calls me to be. He depends on me to support him through his achievements. He depends on me to love him through his mistakes. He counts on me to praise him, to encourage him, to discipline him and love him through it all. Being saved and a single mom means that I need to be all that I can be to help him grow and be a great awesome man for GOD!”

Janyne currently stands on 1 Corinthians 13. She knows that through love and faith we will be led to do great things. Janyne wanted to leave our mothers with these words, “Be the best example you can be for your child.” She recently started Struggling Single Moms, Inc. to help meet the needs of single mothers. Her first outreach event will be held this Sunday, November 22nd from 3-8 pm. It is the Single Mom's First Annual Thanksgiving Dinner. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Cree Davis. She currently resides in Atlanta, GA. Cree is an awesome and beautiful wife, mother of two, philanthropist and entrepreneur.

When I asked Cree how she came to know the Lord she shared, “I began my personal relationship with the Lord the night I found out my father was shot and killed. My grandfather was a firefighter; he had a scanner in the house, so he would be informed right away if any emergencies occurred. The night of my father’s death my grandfathers scanner started to speak of a man that was just shot to death and my mother heard my father’s name, Roy Stanford.” As you can imagine this news was devastating to the entire family. Cree went on to explain, “My mother became very ill. As my family prepped to tell me what was going on, though I was only twelve, I could already sense something very bad in the pit of my stomach, my heart started to hurt and I couldn’t swallow. When I heard the words, “Your father was killed”, I began to weep. I was totally a daddy’s girl. I went into the room where my bed was and knelt down to pray. I didn’t really know what to say or how to pray at this point, but I knew I had to figure it out. I needed God right away. I began to pray a sincere childlike prayer to God asking why this happened to me and to help. I remember the pain in my heart disappearing; I felt better. I remember getting up from the floor and I was no longer thinking about myself, but my mother.” This was Cree’s first personal experience with God and it gave her a peace like never before. This experience allowed her to understand death at a very early age. Cree said, “God also spoke to me and said, “It’s ok to miss your earthly father, but no worries my daughter, I am your heavenly father and I will never leave you, I will be with you forever”. I am now God’s “Daddy’s Girl”…”

During our interview Cree shared what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her, she shared, “[It] has been such a blessing. This organization [Saved M.O.M.] has allowed me to not be so engulfed in my personal family life to the point I forget to pray and send love out for other mothers that do not have the energy/strength to pray for themselves and their families. In our prayer meetings we pray for each other, mothers that are in attendance, mothers that send in prayer request and for all mothers in our country.” She went on to say, “Since joining Saved M. O. M., my passion to step outside of my situations into other mothers situations has grown immensely. Out of my love and passion to pray and help other mothers God has been doing marvelous things for my family. Thank you Saved M.O.M. for being bold and on fire for God…never watered down!”


Cree’s favorite scripture is, “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” 1 John 4:16. She wanted to share these words of encouragement with our mothers…”Ask God for a deep love and passion to pray for other mothers. You never know what another mother is going through and she may not have the energy to pray her herself. It will also show you that you are not alone in your daily struggles as a mother and your situation may not be as bad as you think.

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at Savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature Saved M.O.M.’s near and far. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Tierra Destiny Reid. She currently resides in Stone Mountain, GA. Tierra is a vibrant, beautiful and talented military wife, mother of two and entrepreneur fashionista.

Tierra gave her life to the Lord at a very early age. She recalled, “As a young girl I was raised loving the Lord! My mother was a single parent for a long time and she couldn’t drive for a while and I remember riding the bus to make it to church!” Tierra recommitted her life to the Lord after graduating from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!!!). Her relationship with God has grown stronger throughout the years. She explained, “God and I have a very strong relationship and I am grateful for the ability to hear Him so clearly whenever I need His guidance.”

When I asked Tierra what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she said, “It means incorporating God in everything that I do! It also means making sacrifices today that my children will not have to make tomorrow.” The scriptures that she stands on time and time again are Philippians 4:13 and Psalms 27:14. She said, “[These scriptures] have proven to be true over and over again in my life.”

Tierra wanted to leave our mothers with these words… “When you make things about God, your life, your decisions and even your thoughts…He rejoices and therefore will give you the strength and love you need to overcome and achieve anything your heart desires! I am constantly learning and growing and I feel his arms squeezing me so tight right now! It feels so good to have his confirmation and love.” Tierra recently stepped out on faith and opened her boutique, Stylish Consignments. She said, “Stepping out on faith feels better than I imagined and leaves me speechless at times. So many doors are already open, just waiting for us to walk through them. Sometimes people focus on the doors that are closed and wait to say, "When one door closes another one opens…" Well I have found it to be true, several doors are there just waiting for you to take the first step inside.”

Tierra has always had a knack and love for fashion and will be celebrating the grand opening of her boutique this weekend just outside of Atlanta, GA. She explained, “Resale industry was inspired by my natural love for fashion and my mother’s gift to always find an impeccable deal!” Learn more about her and the business at www.stylishconsignments.com. The grand opening will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 10 am-4 pm at 5514 Lawrenceville Hwy, Suite E, Lilburn, GA, 30047. Tierra’s favorite quote is, “If not you then who if not now then when. She explained, “I actually wrote this quote on my mirror when I decided not to work for anyone else until I gave myself a shot. It inspires me.”

There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Jewel Denise Williams. She currently resides in Chicago, IL. She is a beautiful and faith filled woman of God. She is a wife and the mother of three vibrant young ladies. Her ministry is her family and reaching and teaching others for their purpose. Jewell is a minister and an author. She has a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries and she is currently enrolled at Liberty University working on her Masters in Religious Education. She has a website, several blogs, and recently published her first book, Fearfully and Wonderfully Made. She is preparing to go to print on her second book, Broken China Makes a Beautiful Mosaic in about a month. As you can see Jewell is quite a busy woman!

Jewell came to know the Lord during her teen years. She explained, “My earliest memory is remembering a tract I found on the ground. It was about a homeless child that no one wanted. That child died and Christ took him home to be with Him. I do not remember the words, but the picture (which I can still see in my eyes these 20 plus years) spoke to my condition. I was on my own at a very early age, about 14. So I came to the Lord because of His offer of a place to belong and His offer of freedom from my sins and the sins that were done against me. I could not believe that God would love me so, when I felt no one wanted me.”

When I asked Jewell what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she said, “I take being a mother as a very important role in life. I could have sought a career or something else, but I was not willing to let someone else give my children their values. This is not a knock against women that work but for me, I decided to come home and raise my children.” She went on to say, “It was not easy at first, I was use to working. It called for me to make a lot of sacrifices (financially, career wise, etc.) but one thing that I love about God is, when you make a sacrifice for the right reasons he still has a way of rewarding you with what you want.” Now that her children are older Jewell is fulfilling her dreams and desires. She is very happy with the choices that she has made. She explained, “I look at my oldest daughter and I am thankful for the sacrifice I made. I see her blooming and I think to myself, I helped this precious flower to bloom because of the tools that God gave to me. What a joy to know that if we do for our families the way God instructs us, we have the possibility of seeing our children raised healthy (both mentally, emotionally and spiritually). That’s the greatest thing about being a Saved M.O.M., to help my children have a balanced life that they would not have gotten had I not been balanced first.”

Jewell doesn’t have a favorite scripture, but her favorite book is the book of Jeremiah. She explained, “This book is important to me because this is where the Lord led me when he wanted to show me what he was requiring of me in ministry. If I had to pick a verse from this book it would be Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” It reminds me that no matter what challenges I face in life, my God is able to do more than I could even ask or think.”

When asked her to share some inspirational words with our readers Jewell said, “I would want to tell all mothers (all women really), let’s continue to encourage each other. I see the battles between moms that stay home and moms that work, etc. Instead let us support each other’s choices. My choice for my family was what I had to do, but that does not mean it works for you. Instead let us celebrate each other and support our efforts and our dreams. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Esther Hawkins. She currently resides in Springfield, MO. Esther is a vibrant mother and a Naturopathic Doctor. She uses her blog to offer natural health advice to families (www.hawkinshealth.com).

Ester grew up in a Christian home and knew the Lord at a young age. She said, “My Mum and Dad were saved in college so I grew up in a Christian home.” She didn’t remember the very moment that she received salvation, but she remembers a personal encounter. She explained, “I don’t remember a specific salvation date, but I do remember feeling convicted of my sin when I was about six, and then when I was nine I moved schools and found it very difficult. During that struggle, I had a personal encounter with God that set the foundation for a dynamic and ongoing relationship with Him.”

When I asked Esther what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she said, “My foundation, walk and goal is an intimate relationship with God – to love Him and be loved by Him. I have given Him my life and it is my privilege and joy to walk in obedience to Him. I’ve been amazed at the places God has taken me and the opportunities He has given me to do the things I love, whenever I have surrendered everything to Him. I seem to be more effective and to accomplish more when I lay down my own plans and agendas and simply listen and obey on a day to day basis.”

Her favorite scripture is currently 1 Corinthians 2:9, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.” She explained, “I picture God like an excited parent who has just bought an incredible surprise for his child, something he knows they will absolutely love. He can’t wait to give it to them and see the look on their face when they open their gift.” She went on to say, “Everyday of our life can be like that – an exciting discovery of hope and joy. God is also very practical, He knows our needs and desires and I believe it delights Him to fulfill them.”

Esther wanted to leave our mothers with these words…”There’s no doubt that motherhood can be a challenging and often daunting task. God is available to us in every moment and decision no matter how small. These children, while being such a blessing to us, were not given to us for our benefit. God has a purpose for us as women and a purpose for our children.”

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Taleea D. Mungin. She currently resides in Fort Worth, TX and is the mother of five. She is such an energetic and joy filled mother. Sometimes I wonder just how she does it all!

Taleea was living in Germany at the time that she received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She explained, “I was depressed and feeling like I was missing something. I heard a voice say, “You have tried everything else now try Jesus.” I used to go to a hair stylist in Germany and she led me to the Lord. I started attending her church and that is where I got born-again.” That was on Easter Sunday in 1997. God has been doing a miraculous work in Taleea ever since and her light truly shines for all to see.

When I asked Taleea what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she said, “Being a Saved M.O.M. to me means enjoying a spirit-filled life. I have never known such peace and security. It is not always easy, but God’s grace is sufficient.” Her children love and respect her. They understand that she is saved and that they are under the blood of Christ as well. Taleea went on to say, “It is wonderful to watch my daughter Moneeka follow in my footsteps as a singer. She is very active in Youth ministry and she loves the Lord. I do have older children, who are not where I want them to be, but I am a praying mother and I know that the prayers of the righteous availeth much.”

Her favorite scripture is Psalms 91:1, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” God’s love, protection, provision and instructions can be found in that scripture. Taleea explained, “Every time I feel weak or discouraged I read Psalm 91. He hides me from my enemies. He gives His angels charge over me just like He did for Jesus. God’s word is true to this day. He has always loved me and my family. I could go on and on about God’s goodness and mercy. He even protects us from ourselves, now that is grace and mercy!”

When asked if she had any words to leave as inspiration for other mothers Taleea said, “Always pray over your children and ask God for wisdom. He says His wisdom is far more precious than diamonds and precious stones. Love God first, your spouse second and then your children, because God will always direct your path if you put Him first. He will always lead you in the right direction.”

Taleea is currently working on her Bachelors degree in English and Education and her Masters in Children’s counseling. She believes that children need to know that there are people out here that love them for who they are. She said, “They need to know God loves them and they have hope.”

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the lovely world of motherhood! As most of you know on Fridays we take time to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Zaneta Nikita Adell, affectionately known as Nikita. She currently resides in Lithia Springs, Georgia. Nikita is truly a blessing to the kingdom of God. I have watched her serve in our church for many years, dedicating her life to the service of the Lord.

During our interview Nikita explained that she gained a personal relationship with the God at the age of 13. She said, “I actually grew up in church all my life, however, I really fell in love with Jesus at the age of 13. That was a time when all that could go wrong did, and he was the only one, who I could count on. She went on to talk about how this made her relationship with God much stronger.

When I asked Nikita what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her, she shared, “Being a mom period means the world to me, however, being a Saved M.O.M. gives my son a great example that God has placed in his life. Nikita went on to say, “When I was a child, I always knew that one day, I would be a mom and a great one. I feel like because I'm saved, I can show my son what it means to be a Godly woman who walks in character and integrity; a mom who can be a great example to him on how to treat a woman and always have respect for her.” She is a firm believer that having a relationship with God allows her to have great compassion, patience and understanding. She proclaimed, “God has blessed me with a precious gift of being a mother, and for that what more could I ask!” Her favorite scripture is Psalm 34:9. She explained, “When I fear God and totally trust him, he said that he would supply all my needs and wants. That means I can rest and depend on him to give me what I need through my obedience.”

Nikita wanted to take a moment to share these words with all mothers… “If I could give any advice to a mom, I would tell her to always put God first in all you do and set a trend for your children by living a Godly life. What they do and how they act in life starts in the home. Let's create a Godly generation, by setting a great example.”

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the lovely world of motherhood! As most of you know on Fridays we take time to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Pastor Kathy Ogletree Goodwin whom currently resides in Louisville, Kentucky. Pastor Goodwin is an amazing woman of God with three beautiful children.

Pastor Goodwin came to know the Lord at an early age. She was born and raised in Barnesville, GA. Her mother was a musician at East Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and stressed the importance of church and the things of God. Church was held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday when the traveling Pastor was in town and Pastor Goodwin along with her eight siblings attended church with their parents. She really wanted to be able to receive communion with the other church members and you could only do so if you had been baptised. She explained, “Taking communion exemplified what it meant to be in the family of God. It’s like we were adopted into His family and now able to sit at the kitchen table and eat with all of the members of the body of Christ.” Pastor Goodwin shared, “At a young age I knew God, but it was at the age of 12 or 13 that I decided to receive salvation and get baptized. I had a hunger to know God and made the decision to get baptized at a revival. I remember that that the Pastor preached a message about love that day.”

When I asked Pastor Goodwin what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she said, “It means you have a different level of responsibility. Being a mom is difficult, but if you are a Saved M.O.M. you have the responsibility of raising your children in Christ.” She went on to say, “It’s such a blessing that we have another entity in which we can seek wisdom on how to raise them. We have to teach them how to live in this world, but not be of this world. We respond to things and situations differently, we give differently and we have a divine connection with God.” She talked about the fact that we have to teach our kids to love their enemies and to do the work of the Lord. She added, “We are the conduit of life… we are on a mission because we are responsible for our kids and their well being.” Pastor Goodwin’s favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5. She wants us to understand that we must acknowledge God in all things and know that we are blessed so that we can be a blessing to others.

Pastor Goodwin wanted all of the mothers to know that even though we weren’t given an instruction manual after the birthing experience, God wants us to be an instruction manual to our children. She explained, “When my first son was born I realized that there was no turning back and there were no instructions, but we have to order our lives so that we can be an instruction manual for our children. We have to be the best that we can be spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally then teach our children to do the same... We are an extension of God’s love, we were created for a special reason. Each of our children is born with a God given purpose and we should see to it that it is fulfilled.”

Pastor Goodwin closed by sharing one of her ministries with us. She founded KOG Ministries, Inc. as a platform to fulfill the Kingdom of God. This ministry was created to encourage, empower and enhance women to do ministry while affirming their gift of preaching. Every year she sponsors the These Preachin’ Women Conference. The conference is used to show how God can utilize women in the Kingdom of Christ. Each year nine women are selected to preach and hear the word as the learn ways to enhance their ministry. There are scholarships given to the women so that they can go to workshops and receive the resources that they need to help them fulfill their mission. Congratulations, you made it through another week in the lovely world of motherhood! As most of you know on Fridays we take time to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to First Lady Christina Murray. She currently resides in Douglasville, Georgia. Christina is truly a beauty to behold, both inside and out. She serves as First Lady to Pastor Anthony Murray at Oasis Family Life Church in Hiram, GA.

Christina came to know the Lord at a young age. Although, it wasn’t until her teen years, that she received salvation. She shared, “Well as a small child God was always a hot topic with my grandmother, but as a young teenager was when I actually knew Him for myself.”

When I asked First Lady Christina what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her, she exclaimed, “It means the world!” She went on to say, “Without my “Daddy” I could not be the mother that I am today! He keeps me strong, loving and patient. Without Him my girls could not have a role-model. My hope and prayers are that my daughters see the life I live and the mother that I am and understand that it is only through our father in Heaven that it is possible. Her favorite scripture is Matthew 6:25. She explained, “It talks about worrying. Sometimes in life, the simple reality of what is happening can get you in a panic mode, but this scripture has always helped me to understand how important I am to my Father that He would never forsake me.”

I asked Christina if she wanted to leave any words of encouragement with our readers and she shared, “The funny thing is that I wonder sometimes how I make it…. I still would not trade my life for anything in the world. There is such a beauty that a mother carries. I consider it an honor and a priveledge each and everyday! Cherish the life God has placed before you and enjoy every moment. There is no real handbook for mothers, but the one thing I can say is that I am a true “Daddy’s Girl” and my Father has never let me down. Keep your heart open so He can continue to fill it and stay strong! Mothers have the most important job in the world! We are the ones who bring forth greatness into this world!”

First Lady Christina wants everyone to know that she is so thankful that God has blessed her with being able to have a beautiful church with so many other spiritual sons and daughters at Oasis! She lives everyday of her life for each and every one of them! God has also blessed her with a wonderful career in Real Estate. She works for Coldwell Banker and has been in the real estate business for 8 years. She closed the interview by sharing, “I am also honored and proud of launching “Christina’s Closet” which is a ministry that provides hope and encouragement to women who may need some form of assistance in reaching their business goals and careers. Many women have lost jobs or do not have the finances to purchase business attire, accessories, briefcases, shoes, etc. that they may need for interviews or new corporate jobs. Many women have been assisted in this area and our goal is to also find job placement for serious and dedicated women ready for a new level in their lives.” Praise God for this beautiful woman of God!

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the lovely world of motherhood! As most of you know on Fridays we take time to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Sondra Susanne Hulette. She currently resides in Mount Dora, Florida. Sondra has such a kind spirit with a willingness to help others grow in the Lord.

Sondra came to know the Lord at 8 years old. She grew up in a Christian home (her father is a Baptist minister.) In our interview she explained, “A bitter departure from a church he was serving caused me to have much anger toward the church for many years. In rebellion, I lived my teen years disobedient to the Lord’s will. But thankfully, He never was unfaithful to me. I finally turned to Him after a failed marriage in 1992 and began living an obedient life.” She suffered the consequences of a lot of bad choices in her younger days, but she said, “What Satan intends for evil, God can use for good.”

When I asked Sondra what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she said, “I’ve dealt with a lot of heartache as a mother of three adult children. I’d like to think I was a good mother in raising my two sons and one daughter, but the truth is, I made plenty of mistakes. I look back now and see how selfish a lot of my motives were. But I know that “God is working in all things for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.” Through her experiences the Lord has shown her how to trust Him in every circumstance. He has shown her that even though she thought she had situations under control she didn’t, but He did. She explained, “He has taught me to not be so quick to judge the sins of others before looking as myself. (“Judge not, lest ye be judged.”) No matter what the circumstance He has been there to comfort, guide, teach, forgive, and love in every trial of life. I just don’t know how anyone could tackle the responsibility of motherhood without the Lord. He is my Rock!” Her favorite scripture is Romans 8:28.

She wanted to leave all mothers with these words… “Instead of looking at difficulties in life and asking God why, ask Him what He wants you to learn from it. He has so much to teach us. When we ask Him for things to go the way we want them to, we are missing the blessing. He isn’t in the business of making our lives comfortable. He’s in the business of perfecting our hearts. As Jesus so perfectly stated in the Lord’s Prayer, “… Thy Will be done.”

Sondra has been blessed with an awesome ministry. Cornerstone Ministries was founded with a vision to teach others to apply Biblical principles to their lives. At Cornerstone Ministries they want to show you how to take a fresh look at what you do, how you do it, and why you do it. The ministry lines up life principles with God’s word in order to discover His truth, learn to look at the internal instead of the external and search for cause and effect through Biblical reasoning. Sondra explained, “It’s always exciting to see His Word afresh and anew. So many times we find ourselves doing something because that’s how we were taught. Congratulations, you made it through another week in the lovely world of motherhood! As most of you know on Fridays we take time to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Ellen Samuel. She currently resides in Hayward, CA. Ellen has such a lovely and radiant spirit. She recently retired from the Social Security Administration and has devoted her time to assist in caring for her grandchild.

Ellen has attended church all of her life. In our interview she shared, “When I was a little girl I went to church every Sunday. I loved the Lord and I loved learning about Him.” She gave her life to Him at the age of thirteen during alter call, at Bethany Baptist church in Baltimore, MD. She said. “I just wanted to belong to the Lord and give my heart to Him.” After receiving salvation she learned more about God gradually. She knew that God loved her and that He would be with her. Ellen attended Sunday school and church but didn’t really learn about what salvation meant until her adulthood.

When I asked Ellen what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her she explained, “Being a Saved M.O.M. means that I am following Christ, loving Christ and reflecting him in my walk so that my children and others will see Christ in me. I asked her to share her favorite scripture with us. She has many scriptures that she often reflects on, but the one that came to mind was Philippians 4:13.

I want to take a few moments to share a testament of Ellen’s love and selflessness. Her daughter and son-in-law embarked upon the calling of parenthood last year. In the midst of enjoying the new phase of her life in retirement, Ellen made an awesome commitment. She decided to move to California so that her grandchild would not have to go to daycare for the first couple of years of his life. I asked her what prompted her to do such a selfless thing and she explained, “It’s love that makes me help and I know the type of struggle it is when there is no one to help. God has afforded me the opportunity to be retired at this time and I am honored to be able to share my time with my daughter and her family. It pumps me up and energizes me to know that the Lord is allowing me to be there.” She went on to say, “It’s hard work, but God is allowing me to do this. I could be cripple or deceased but God has made me capable of doing this and it’s such an honor.” She told me that if it weren’t her daughter’s baby, she probably would be doing it for someone else’s child. She shared, “God made me with a mother’s instinct. There are so many people from teenagers to adults that I have assumed the mother role for and I am grateful that God allows me to do this.”

Ellen wanted to leave us with these words…”Motherhood does not come with instructions so you really need to align yourself with saved moms that will be there during the challenging times. Rest assured that God will be with you always and you will make it through. It’s good to be around others that will help you and lead you to Christ when you fall. God wants you to get up, turn around and seek Him during these times. Read His word and study His word, He is there and wants us to succeed and do our best. As long as we are down we won’t see those things that He has in store for us.” It was put on her heart to share these scriptures for you to study and reflect on… John 17:23; Deuteronomy 31:6; Joshua 1:3, 9; Psalm 9:9-10; and 1 John 1:9.

Good Day to all of the Saved M.O.M.’s out there! Today is Feature Friday, as you all know. Once again I am led to do things a little differently in this entry. I would like to take a moment to feature a Saved DAD today. The Saved DAD that I am featuring is my loving husband, Mr. Jason Press! Normally, in a feature entry I would talk about a person’s walk with the Lord, their call to salvation, and what being a saved parent means to them, but I am not following that format today. I want to take time to give my husband the recognition that he deserves.

It is vitally important to be in covenant with a supportive spouse as we walk through the roads of life and parenthood. If it were not for Jason’s humbleness, patience, understanding, and support I wouldn’t be able to do all that I do. He is so very supportive in all of my endeavors, especially when it comes to the Saved M.O.M. ministry. I find so often that men have problems with their wives being in positions of leadership and try to stifle their growth and development in those areas. In my situation, it’s the complete opposite. Jason is so real with me and often serves as an adviser to a lot of what goes on behind the scenes of my ministry. He helps me to grow and develop into who God has called me to be and what He has called me to do.

It is also important that we have wise counsel, especially when it comes to the business of God’s Kingdom. For the word tells us, “Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.” (Proverbs 19:20). Jason has given me great advice and instruction and has an uncanny level of patience with me. He allows the Lord to use him in such a way that helps me produce good fruit. He is like my sunshine and water all wrapped into one and we are both planted in the soil of the Lord.

I mustn’t overshadow the fact that he is also an AWESOME and AMAZING father. He leads our son down the path of righteousness and fathers him with a love that could only come from above. There are so many young men that don’t have the opportunity to see good Godly examples of what God intended for them to be. So I thank God for giving us Jason to exemplify his love and serve as our covering. Thank you darling for your patience, your loving nature, your support, and for being everything we need and more!

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature Saved M.O.M.’s . There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to LaRonna Turnbough. LaRonna is a resident of Austell, GA. She is an amazing wife, mother of six beautiful children and an entrepreneur. Her passion for ministry and family is strong and unwavering

LaRonna came to know the Lord at the age of eighteen. Growing up she wasn’t raised in a Christian home. Her mother was a strong single mom and her father wasn’t around during her childhood. In our interview she said, “In my late teen years dad had gotten born again and became a minister. At a family gathering I heard my family talking about dads past and was amazed at how unpleasant it was. That was not the man I knew.” She explained that after listening to the negative things they said about her father, she left the room. Her father followed her in an attempt to console her. She told him that she was surprised that he had turned his life around and if the Lord could change him, she too wanted to be born again. So she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at that very moment. She said, “Hearing my father’s testimony inspired me to change my life.”

When asked what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her, LaRonna stated, “EVERYTHING! Apart from the Holy Spirit, the Lord and the word, I could not do what I do. It would be overwhelming and impossible to care for 6 children and do all that I do on a daily basis.” One of her favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6. This has been her saving grace and she acknowledges God in all things. She explained, “I am not looking to others and what they are doing. I know God will direct my path in regards to my children and my husband.

Considering that LaRonna is mother of six and provides in-home childcare to 5 other children I had to ask her to share “A day in the life of…” She said, “It all depends on the day, each day is different.” She starts her day around 6 am with devotion, prayer and word time. Then she prepares breakfast and gets the kids ready. Meanwhile the day care children are coming in. In the midst of all of this she and her husband are both at home simultaneously operating 2 businesses. I thought it was so beautiful when she shared, “My husband and I do everything together.” After breakfast, home school starts. There is a lunch break at 12:30 and home school ends at 3:30. The family sits down for a nice home cooked dinner around 5:30 while the daycare kids are leaving. After dinner they have “free-time” in which LaRonna may need to make business calls, perform business presentations, do laundry, go outside, or go to work out and the kids are down by 9pm. I just couldn’t believe that she actually has time for an intense work-out at the gym 3-5 times per week. By the way, she looks great!

I asked her to give us some advice on how she still manages to please her husband in the midst of everything else. She shared, “I Put God 1st and hubby 2nd. He still comes before kids and other things. Don’t put anything before your husband other than God. Keep yourself together. Do the things you did before when you were dating. Your children are not your world. Your energy can’t be misdirected. Think of ways to be creative and look good. If you are a stay at home mom, he doesn’t want to see your hair in rollers or you in pajamas when he gets home. You must prioritize and keep him happy. Remember to always direct your thoughts toward him.” LaRonna was very firm in stating, “Don’t make excuses as to why you can’t do this or that. Make time to stay on top of things. Get off the phone, get off the internet, and don’t always go out with your girlfriends. You must manage your time and prioritize.” LaRonna’s advice is given from the prospective of a married mother, but she wants to encourage the single mothers to take heed to what she has to say as well.

When asked if there were any words of wisdom that she wanted to share with other mothers, here’s what she had to say… “So many moms make the mistake of becoming mothers and loosing themselves and the baby becomes the center of their whole universe. Don’t let yourself go because you had baby.” She explained that it bother her when she hears excuses from mothers. She said, “Where there is a will there is a way. Focus on whatever is in your heart that really drives you. You have to esteem your children. Put your energy prayers and wisdom toward things of God. For the married moms, still wear lingerie, curl your hair, simply do what you gotta do. Be excellent at being a mom and a wife. Your life has amazing purpose; you are raising a generation to come instilling God’s plan and purpose in them.

She also wanted to share some information with mothers that may be looking for eco-friendly, economical, effective products that are safe for the home and can be delivered right to the doorstep. Also mothers that have children suffering from asthma, allergies, or eczema and moms that may be looking for an effective way to earn income from home while still caring for their children. Good day to all the beautiful and blessed Saved M.O.M.’s out there! I want to do things a little different in this Feature Friday entry. As most of you know, on Friday’s we usually feature a Saved M.O.M. and tell a little about her story.

Today I feel the need to give honor to ALL of the Saved M.O.M.s. Considering that there are millions of you out there, we don’t have an opportunity to feature each and everyone one of you. Some of you may feel that you are doing the best to make it through each day and that no one recognizes the sacrifices that you are making while raising your children, but I do. Thank you for simply being you. Don’t try to compare yourself to other mothers that you may think are doing a better job. Don’t beat yourself up for the mistakes that you have made. Allow the things that haven’t broken you to make you stronger. Keep your head up, your heart open to love and your mind on Him. For it is the Lord that gives us strength to make it through. “but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31). Stay strong my sister and keep the faith, for His plans are wonderful. “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature a Saved M.O.M.. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Christian Mommy Writer (CMW). CMW is a military wife, stay at home mom, aspiring freelance writer and a dedicated volunteer.

CMW came to know the Lord at the age of 15. She had some friends in high school that were living for God and she wanted to experience the happiness and peace that they had. She was going to church at that time, but didn’t know what it meant to be saved. CMW explains, “So on one Sunday morning at church, I went to the altar call and asked what I needed to do to be saved. The Pastor immediately got excited and prayed the Sinner’s Prayer with me. I felt brand new and I was happy that I was guaranteed a trip to heaven.”

Like so many of us she eventually backslid as she grew into young adulthood and college. She says, “I wanted to live life according to my own terms, but I always felt convicted when I did wrong.” Her sophomore year in college, she met an ordained minister. He was a blessing to her in many ways. He helped her to get her life back on track with God and introduced her to the man that would later become her husband.

After several years of working as a Public Health professional, the Lord called her from the workplace to the ministry of being a stay at home mommy. CMW shared, “It has been one of the most rewarding, but challenging things I have ever done. Being a Saved M.O.M. gives me a different perspective with parenting. When I get stressed or overwhelmed, I know that God can give me peace and answers on how to handle different situations with my toddler. He created my son and it gives me peace to know that I can go straight to the Creator for answers.”

As a Saved M.O.M, she understands that she can never underestimate the impact that her life will have, not only on others, but to her own child as well. She explained, “It’s time out for the old saying, “Do as I say, not as I do.” The bible tells us in Matthew 5:16 to, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Because of the light that was shining from my high school classmates and college friends, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I learned that it was possible to live saved. I also learned that with God, life has more meaning and purpose. I plan to spend the rest of my life fulfilling the plan that God has designed for my life.”

Christian Mommy Writer plans to publish books on Christian Living. She currently uses her gift of writing through a blog called Reflections from a Christian Mommy Writer. She blogs about mommy hood, Christian living, military life and health issues. Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at savedmom.com we take time every Friday to feature a Saved M.O.M.. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am happy to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Victoria Jenkins. She currently resides in Thomasville, NC. Victoria is a mother, writer, photographer, and an evangelist for our dear Lord and Savior.

Victoria came to know Christ at a very early age but became lost to the world during her teen years. She explained, “I was saved at 10, baptized at 12…and totally lost to the world because I had never learned that to know Christ is to have a relationship with Him…” Like so many of us Victoria experienced a really rough patch during her teen years. She shared, “They were filled with rebellion against myself and against all that the world expected me to be. Those years were the desert of my life. I can still recall the loneliness that accompanied me as I wandered aimlessly, wondering where I fit into God's plan.”

She practiced witchcraft and lived in a constant state of rebellion. She even created her own religion which she referred to as “Christwicca.” She explained, “I began to yearn for a bigger role in my spiritual life. I turned to Wicca for the ritual to it all and I invented my own religion. "Christwicca" was my own brand of praying to God and loving Jesus while taking matters into my own hands through the use of magic.”

Victoria later hit a bottom in her life. The world as she knew it began to crumble around her. She said, “My marriage and my most intimate friendships as well as my sense of self-worth, lie shattered in more pieces than I care to admit. It wasn’t obedience that brought me to that point; my anger drove me to the Lord.” She lost her closest friends because of deceit and wickedness. Furthermore, she experienced failed friendship after failed friendship. Victoria didn’t know where to turn and then the Lord spoke to her through his word. She found comfort in His Good Book and life has never been the same. Dealing with the pain and despair that came from her experiences, the Lord has led her to write a book about Biblical friendships. She is in the midst of allowing God to speak to her and guide her in her writing.

She also writes devotionals to keep her close and accountable to God. You can follow these writings at www.letthesonshine.org. Victoria is thankful for all of her trials because they brought her closer to God. She shared, “The greatest gift has been learning firsthand that our Sovereign Lord is our Faithful Father and Closest Confidant. When we follow where He leads, He will lead us Home.”

She wanted to leave our readers with these closing words, “Are you being called to something bigger than yourself? Well, God is bigger, my sister! We, as daughters of the King, must stand firm in our God-given destinies no matter how overwhelming they may seem. Every time I feel too small for the role God has called me to play, I cling to the God-breathed Words that Mordecai spoke to Esther, “...Who knows? Perhaps you have come to royal dignity for just such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).

Feature Friday

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature a Saved M.O.M.. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Virginia Teresa Robles Belizaire. She currently resides in Smyrna, GA. Virginia has a very active lifestyle serving as wife, mother of four, entrepreneur, medical esthetician/wellness coordinator, doula, certified childbirth educator, and assistant faith group leader (for a married couples fellowship group).

Virginia knew the Lord as a young child. During our interview she explained, “I grew up around my grandmother; she was saved, Holy Ghost filled and fire baptized. She was my first spiritual influence but it wasn’t until I lived with my sister that I really made a true commitment to God.” During this time Virginia would often see her sister attending church. She noticed that her sister really made a lifestyle change once she started going to church and this inspired her to seek God more. Virginia started watching TBN and other spiritual television shows. She said, “My sister busted me out about not going to church and just watching the word on TV. I later decided to join her at church. I experienced the true and living God during service and became filled with the Holy Ghost on that day in May of 1999.” Virginia shared that life hasn’t been the same since that moment.

When I asked Virginia what being a Saved M.O.M. means to her, she said, “It’s a higher priority and obligation to walk in the fruit of the spirit. We shouldn’t neglect God because we are tired, tending to crying babies, cooking or cleaning. It’s so not about us anymore, it’s about the kids that the Lord has entrusted us to raise.”

Virginia has a strong belief that we must take care of ourselves spiritually and physically. Health is very important to her. She believes 110% in her Juice Plus business. She said, “Moms who want better nutrition for themselves before, during and after pregnancy should be on a regular Juice Plus regiment. It’s even great for toddlers and children.” Virginia has an awesome testimony that her Juice Plus regiment along with her faith in God allowed her to have twins earlier this year with no health problems during her pregnancy. She advises that you listen to Dr. William Sears (a prominent Pediatric doctor) on her home page as he explains the importance of vitamins and nutrition for your children. Virginia said, “Juice Plus is a great way to stay healthy and make money.” She is a strong proponent of chiropractic health as well. She works alongside her husband at Agape Chiropractic in Smyrna, GA (www.agapechirospa.com).

Virginia closed the interview by sharing, “As a parent of an adult, forgiveness, if it has not yet been learned, needs to be learned and practiced daily. We must always walk in forgiveness and definitely remember to forgive ourselves.” Her favorite scriptures are Proverbs 3:5-6 and 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Congratulations, you made it through another week in the life of a Saved M.O.M.! Here at savedmom.com we take time out on Fridays to feature a Saved M.O.M.. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to Kennisha Nyree Hill. She currently resides in Lewisville, Texas serving as wife, mother, very active church member and writer.

Kennisha came to know the Lord at the young age of 12. In our interview she said, “I was practically “born” in the church. Both of my parents are saved and live the lifestyle. They raised us in a Christian home. By the time I was 12 years old, I knew for myself that I wanted Christ as Lord of my life. Years later, at the age of 18, I rededicated my life to the Lord and from that point sought to grow closer to Him.” She feels that being a Saved M.O.M. is more than the title. In her eyes, a Saved Mommie on a Mission is, “one who walks in her purpose- the purpose that God has designed women to be.” She explains, “He created us with such unique abilities. We were equipped to feed, nurture and love in a way that no one else can. As a Saved M.O.M., we ensure our children and the children around us know who God is. We train them up by being Godly examples. God has built in us the power of influence- and a real Saved M.O.M. uses her influence to steer her children in the right direction.”

Kennisha often refers back to where the scripture tells us in Proverbs 31:28 “Her children arise and call her blessed…” She looks to her mother as the ultimate Saved M.O.M.. Kennisha says emphatically, “Brothers, sisters and I do arise and call her blessed! She is the perfect example of virtuosity, strength and commitment to her family. By her example, I learned how to be the best mother I can be for my children!”

She believes that part of being a Saved M.O.M. means faithfully serving in the gifts the Lord has given us. With this in mind, she prays daily to be who God needs her to be for her husband, son and ministry. By His grace, she just released her first book, “Simply Wisdom: Tidbits of Inspiration for Your Journey.” This book exemplifies her passion to send words of exhortation that will encourage people to seek their calling in the Lord. “God has blessed us all with a gift,” Kennisha says. “We should be obedient in using them for the kingdom.” To purchase a copy, please visit her website www.kennisha-hill.com. There are so many wonderful mothers that don’t get the recognition they deserve. I am proud to say that this week’s Feature Friday is dedicated to my First Lady, Mrs. Ilka Torres Murray. She is such an amazing individual and it gives me joy and pleasure to honor her today. Mrs. Ilka T. Murray is a resident of Douglasville, GA and serves as First Lady to Pastor Roderick Murray at Victory Family Life Church in Lithia Springs, GA.

Mrs. Murray loves being a saved M.O.M.! In our interview she stated, “As mothers we try so hard to emulate the epitome of motherhood, or what television, movies and magazines depict motherhood to be. But as we all know, motherhood doesn’t always fit into the perfect image of what society makes it.” She shared with me that so many of the mothers that she ministers to try to imitate Carol Brady. First Lady said, “She’s always smiling, clothes never wrinkled, never tired, she always has each of her perfect kids and her perfect family on schedule and serves dinner on time, and that’s ok, but for most women that’s not reality. Although, the one thing that we do have in common with Mrs. Brady is that we all have a “Mommie Mission”.” Mrs. Murray explains that in the midst of it all, as mothers, we must figure out our “Mommie Mission”.

First Lady Ilka Murray initially gave her life to the Lord at the tender age of eight. Although, it wasn’t until the age of 16, when she was able to understand the significance of that decision, she accepted God as her “friend”. I love the fact that she refers to God as her friend. “So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” (Romans 5:11). When she had her first child, like many, she was overwhelmed with so many questions about motherhood. After a few months of searching for the answers she realized that there had to be an easier and more fulfilling way. She established focus for her and her son and discovered her purpose as a mother. This is the moment in which she became a Mommie On a Mission.

Her missions are as follows…

Mission #1- Teaching her child that life is a blank canvas in which he can paint it with the colors of LIFE and display his experiences with GOD.

Mission #2- FAITH, FAITH, and more FAITH. Considering that after she delivered her first child the doctors told her that she would not be able to conceive again, her second mission was to have faith in God and place her trust in him. With much prayer and faith, she conceived 3 months later! Soon thereafter she received news that her body was preparing to abort. God told her to remember her mission. She kept pushing through with her Faith in him. After several visits to the doctor the report was that IF her body kept the baby that the child would either be still born, abort within the first month of pregnancy, or if the baby lived s/he would not be normal. But she was a Mommie On a Mission and continued to trust in the report of God and not the report of man. Today she is the proud mother of 2 year old Riley Christina Murray, and I can attest the fact that little Riley is normal, happy, beautiful, and full of joy just like her Saved M.O.M.!

Mission #3: Helping other women become ALIVE in every area of there lives. God helped her become alive as a woman of faith, as a mother to her children and as a mother figure to many women. She wants to encourage all M.O.M.’s to find their mission, use life’s experiences to inspire that mission and push until the mission is complete. She concluded the interview by saying, “Whatever your mission is, it’s important. You have more to give this world than just milk bottles, pampers, snotty noses, and heartaches of teenage love. You have love, joy, peace, friendship, and LIFE to bring to the whole world. God has empowered you to take control of your future! Become a Mommie On a Mission.”
